Hello, Could anyone shed some light on this please. My friend was driving her brand new car on Lady Bay Bridge Nottingham today, stopped at a red light waiting to turn right. A truck in the left hand lane had a green light to turn left. As he was going forward the back of his trailer smashed the n/s rear wing of my friends car. The driver carried on and didn’t stop.
She was a bit shook up and didn’t get his number, but remembers it was a white truck with black lettering. Something like LINROY or LINROV, and a few more letters after it. Does this ring a bell with anyone? She is hoping that there may be camera footage from the bridge.
Thank you.

could be Linroyle
if he caught the car with his tail swing, he probably didn’t even feel it
Thank you. I have passed your info on. I think the damage was extensive, in her words the back wing is wrecked. It’s a very expensive car, more a mini truck type pickup.

it doesn’t take much to do what can look like extensive damage to a car with the rear of a trailer
years ago, i ripped the front wing off a van with the tail swing, never even felt it, bumper hooked on to the door pillar after the wing, and dragged it in to the middle of the road
Hi again. Could you clarify the spelling of this company name. My friend thinks it might be Linroyale Potatoes.
Yes, I caved in the door of a woman’s car once, was hardly a mark on the front bumper of my Foden tipper.

Hi again. My friend saw a truck the same as the one that hit her, coming in the opposite way 15 minutes after it happened. She stopped it and spoke to the driver. He denied it, she couldn’t see any damage to his trailer. He said he hadn’t gone over that bridge. It was Linroyale Potatoes by the way. I think I’ll leave it up to them now, the Police are involved. thanks for your help.
Ilona.
Bye the way, I am enjoying my retirement, there is life after trucking.

No I didn’t know that I don’t think I could hack it now. It was the boredom of the job that got to me in the end. The endless hours of sitting around, waiting to tip or load, waiting for paperwork, stuck in traffic jams. If they could get trained chimps to do it they would. The best times were when I was given a loaded lorry and the paperwork, and told to go and get on with it, and was trusted to use my judgement and do it the best way I could. Now I have nightmares about it, usually about parking my lorry and not being able to find it again, ha ha.
It’s wonderful to be answerable to no one these days, no tipping times, no phone ringing, where are you, you should have been there ages ago. I walk a lot these days, and when I pass over a motorway I look down and smile and think, I used to do that. Keep on trucking lads and lasses.
