passed a not-long-happened smash on the A1 northbound between the end of the 4-lane and the A47 junction… Volvo (I think) on its roof, 3 trucks stopped and parked on lane 1 (hence why I didn’t stop too - too many cooks etc) and a car in layby 150 yards away with smashed car-nose…
VERY recent cos no blue lights in attendance.
prob about 0145 ish since I left Thetford around midnight…
can’t find owt about it on bbc cambs, any cambs news sites etc and no appeals for witnesses on police website.
just being nosey and hoping:
a) nobody hurt in initial accident, and
b) no follow-on smashes from people rounding bend and crest and running into backsides of lorries stopped with no hazards on lane1, being as the A1 is a road with close-proximity lay-bys…
