Didn’t have a bluetooth earpiece in did you■■?

I only ask as we had a memo round saying there was a possibility that bluetooth could affect the trucks systems :open_mouth: Not that i believe it but just thought i would ask.

Just going of topic slightly does anyone get headaches when using there bluetooth ?

Only if the missus is on the other end

Yes, I do.

I also get them with wireless devices such as wireless broadband routers and wireless keyboards and mouse. Not good!!!

I know when it starts to affect me as the pain is always in the same place about half an inch above my ear.

i got a bluetooth three weeks ago and have noticed that i have been geting more and more headaches…mentioned it to a mate and he sais hed had a similar problem so he got rid…i just thought he was mistaken but i have monitored it and the headaches and nausea have been worse when i have been using it a lot…also read some where on line that its a common problem…

Long time ago (early 70’s) I went up north to collect a Leyland National bus for a mate, it was March time but bitterly cold. Heading down the M1 went to pull into services for fuel, foot off the gas and onto brake nothing happened. Tried to change down (semi auto box, no clutch), nothing happened. Fortunately I was able to come out the services and back onto the motorway without mishap. Eventualy (30 odd miles later) ran out of fuel. Once the post mortem had been carried it transpired that the accelerator and brake were both air operated, moisture had frozen in the air lines meaning there was nothing I could do to stop the vehicle, luckily there was plenty of road and no need to stop, and no mobile phones in those days. (reminds me of a film where a train wouldnt stop - cant remember what is was called  )

I used to have a Jabra and never had a problem. However, it broke and I got another one albeit a different model. At the same time I swapped jobs and the truck had a VEMIS fitted that was transmitting radio waves all day and the headaches started. So i’ve gone back to a walkman style wired handsfree kit, and pulled the fuse out of the VEMIS too!!! No headache

Limestone I spent about 7 hours working on the laptop on sunday and its wirless router etc…next day 0700 bluetooth in mi ear and shocking headaches all day monday and quite bad tues weds…im convinced its the bluetooth :open_mouth:

Defineatly agree with you about the fact that it’s the bluetooth in your circumstance. It just so happens that with me all the other things trigger mine off too. I’ve been to the docs about it and they just say that there is no evidence availiable to say that these devices are the cause. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

It’s the long term effect that I worry about, as the tests so far have only been done to say that short term there is no health worries :exclamation:

On the subject of radio waves, whilst I haven’t actually read all of it, just skimmed through it, and whilst it is a few years old now, those concerned my like to read The Trower Report as it is commonly referred by.

Cheers Krankee some interesting reading in that lot…needless to say the bluetooth is staying switched off…lets see if it helps …hope so :open_mouth:

Used to drive a 4 wheeler MAN ridged ,
and in the winter we had a problem with the accelerator jamming on when on long motorway drives !
The cable used to run(because right hand drive) right past the front grill and with water or condensation getting in with the freezing cold wind chill it froze in position! bit scarry the 1st time it happened

Quinny:
Bluetooth headsets operate on the UHF range, and close to the microwave range, alongside the phones, which is around about the 900mhz mark.

Thats why you get headaches with bluetooth. I used to have one but got rid of it, can’t be good for you.

There’s a notice up at Arla Leeds saying that a truck involved in an accident was suspected to be caused by bluetooth interference with the throttle. Personally I think it’s a bit far fetched, more likely the floormat got jammed against the throttle
