Academic Research Questionnaire - Advanced Stop Lines

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and I would like to ask for your collective help.

For the purpose of academic research, I would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to read and complete the following questionnaire on Advanced Stop Lines (ASLs):

tinyurl.com/ASLquestionnaire

I am trying to obtain the opinions of different road users, and your input as truck drivers would be much appreciated.

The questionnaire will accept responses until the end of May (2014).

Thanks in advance…

Done.

Survey completed.

BTW One question asks if it is a traffic offence to stop in the cycle reservoir as a Yes/No. It isn’t that simple, see highway code rule 178.

Done.

Done as well

as th2013 said, difficult to answer that question

Done. Good questionnaire.

th2013:
Survey completed.

BTW One question asks if it is a traffic offence to stop in the cycle reservoir as a Yes/No. It isn’t that simple, see highway code rule 178.

I agree… it appears that the author of the questionaire isn’t 100% familiar with the rules of asl’s :unamused:

Thank you for all of your responses.

I agree, my line of questioning on stopping at an ASL and motoring offences was vague to say the least, and more options should have been provided. It would be difficult for me to modify the questionnaire at this stage given that it has been in circulation for over two weeks, however, when it comes to analysis I may omit this question.

I appreciate all of your feedback. :sunglasses:

Regards,
ASLResearcher.

Hi, survey done.
Why not start building cycle lanes that are completely separate from the road? I know this is done sometimes but more often than not a cycle lane will be marked onto an existing carriageway making it so narrow it is then impossible to drive down it in a truck without encroaching on the cycle lane.
Bikes and lorries is a very bad mix.
