ADM International, one of the world’s largest food manufacturers, has chosen Abbey Logistics to handle distribution from its facilities in East London.
Liverpool-based Abbey will take responsibility for the movement of ADM’s refined oils and fats, from its sites in Purfleet and Erith, extending a 20 year relationship.
ADM produces ingredients for food, animal feed, nutrition and cosmetics worldwide.
“It’s a great testament to our partnership with ADM over the years that, despite significant competition in a very competitive market place, it has worked with us to ensure that both companies’ requirements were eventually met, said Abbey’s commercial director, Dave Coulson.
Abbey road tanks are probably one of the best run firms there are. I hope they get every contract they bid for.
It’s well run and the drivers are a name rather than a number.

You’re not wrong.
I know two people that work there, and one that left to set up his own business.
I’ve seen the payslips. £8.00 it isn’t.
But they didn’t mention anything above problems with any office staff.

The only issue I have with them is the ■■■■ wheelbarrow wheels on the XFs. Look bloody stupid!
What does it matter? You can’t see them when you’re driving them. If the job and money were right I would drive a truck with different sized wheels on every corner.

They were advertising for drivers at Belvedere (the prosperous South East) maybe 2-3 years ago and that was EXACTLY the hourly rate printed in black and white, seen with my own eyes. Of course in the depths of this recession they may have had a substantial increase since as they seem to be doing so well. No doubt you’ll be able to enlighten us as to the hourly rate now?
