Year old post I know, but still relevant…

Yeah and unfortunately you can’t post anything to their wall. I went through a fair bit of their wall and the only posts was from someone called Donna. Who has a very tightly guarded facebook account.

It sickens me that they can do this to people who have worked extremely hard to pay for their training.

There must be a way to make more people aware of this.

You can post on their page although it does get deleted quickly…
They owe me a refund, sent me a cheque and it bounced.

I am trying to coordinate an action against them, so if anyone has any genuine issues please msg me.

Direct LGV - are the worst of all the training ‘brokers’ (these are not my words - but the words of 100’s of disgruntled customers, see the link below to read what people think about Direct LGV).

canyoutrustthem.com/index.ph … 2357#start

The complaints go back years and the most recent is from last week.

But now Direct LGV have a new tactic. They are warning against brokers. This is their new site - it has to be seen to be believed:

directlgv.co.uk/report/index … 4Qod8zZsKg

I sent off for the report (you all should) - I’ve copied the email they sent below. I don’t what to make of this. It’s like Bin Laden warning you against the dangers of terrorism!

Thank you for requesting your free LGV training report. Now that I know your email address, I feel I can share a little more information…

The report you’ll be getting is called:

“The Dark Side of LGV Training”

“How innocent HGV/LGV trainees have been the victims of fraud, misinformation and casual neglect from “national” LGV training companies (And 9 ways you can avoid being ripped-off… from an insider’s point of view)”

I can’t reveal any more than that in an email for now, but you’ll get the full story in the report in the post.

In the meantime, I need you to do something…

Please, please, please do not give any LGV/HGV training company any money or card details until you’ve read this report.

There are so many sharks out there – and so many smooth talking salesmen who will charm you into leaving a deposit – it won’t be easy.

But please, for your own sake, wait a few days until you get the report before you spend any money on your training.

You’ll thank me for it in the end.

Take care and speak soon,

Raja

am on the phone to boss he just booked 2 drivers hgv 2 training

You have to give them credit to have the balls to write this stuff knowing what their principals and ethics (or lack of) are.

I was drawn in by a broker (before I found TNUK) and paid the deposit. I managed to get the study books and theory tests booked by them for the money that I sent them. I used a prepay card (which I later cancelled) as I began to smell a rat when they started ringing every 1-2 days.

I found TNUK and did not pay them any more money. Booked it with local training school.

It is a shame that these guys have to be so ethically challenged. At the end of the day it is all about greed. They are quite happy to pester you for your money but not so quick (if at all) to book the course.
.
If it wasn’t for their clever marketing strategies, I would not have been drawn in.

The directors of these companies should be banned for life from running any brokerage company. I know it’s not that simple but it would weed out some of the pond life that are putting a black mark on the training industry.

The best double bluff I’ve seen for a long time

Congratulations, Direct, on an excellent marketing device

Sadly, you’ve already been found out!!

Very, very devious. I would have thought they would have had not much trouble creating their “insider knowledge”.

With their antics they practically wrote the book.

Just in the process of sticking their great advice on the hgvlgvtraining blog, along with the can you trust them link comments etc. Direct LGV also have Twitter and Facebook pages.

They must be good - “they have DSA accredited centres nationwide”

directlgv.co.uk/contact.htm (scroll down page)

They’re even better than that! I only had a quick count but I think they are advertising around 42 centres around the UK. Clever - as there are only 7 accredited centres offering commercial training with 15 sites. Do a search for

dsalgvaccreditedcentres

These people are clearly exposed as liars.

They work simply on a good website and a strong sales team.

Buyer beware!

Good luck all

Hi Peter,

I just did that, and this is what I found:

This forum is a good start. But obviously there’s loads of folk out there not looking at this. I’m waiting for 0900 to dob them in to DSA because I’m sick to the back teeth of the false claims.

Anyone know if Google has got any enforcement power? Of course there’s always Trading Standards.

But the best is for no-one to book with the sharks to start with!!

Accidentally heard the follow up call from Direct LGV today. On numerous occasions they stated that all the training was DSA approved and that the training centres are all accredited. NONSENSE!

Best thing is when they offered training and test at Mansfield. As I own the school and test centre at Mansfield that’s going to be interesting to see how that works. Alternatively, apparently you can take your test at Worksop. Also interesting. There is a test centre approved at Worksop. It’s not quite up and running yet and it’s owned by Scania UK. Can’t imagine that Scania UK would work with Direct LGV!

Direct LGV are giving false information on their website and repeating it, time and time again, in their sales speil.

How many times does it have to be said. Unless you’ve got a strong recommendation, insist on visiting the training centre and looking round. You’re spending anywhere between £1k and £3k. Take care who you give it to.

Good luck all. Pete Peter Smythe

KEEPING IT SIMPLE!

And how many times do I have to say… the people that can “correct” any errors on websites are the ASA
asa.org.uk/

all that posting on here gets is me a headache and lawyers earning fee’s. :unamused: :unamused:
If their website is factually incorrect then use the system that is there to stop them
