I’ve seen three recovery jobs in as many weeks done by the AA; Do they use a lot of agency staff? The personnel don’t seem to have a clue, saw one “patrol” near Rawtenstall yesterday who spent more time scratching his head and looking at the cars’ bonnet than actually trying to repair it. The driver didn’t look impressed as the patrolman drove off.
They do seem good at driving with their beacons on, pretending that the Micra on the back is a 100ton load…
What the heck were you doing up in Rawtenstall? You will need gears that you didn’t know you had shifting muck on those banksides. Regarding the AA, why do you think I am no longer a member, cr*p service for one thing.

Surely your not back on that job Nathan after all the moaning and groaning that you did about it? Hardly worth you putting your coat in the cab these days lad…
Pete.
Was in Bacup the other day…tiny init
I had the cam belt snap on my6 off road toy a while ago, totally my fault I had the kit to do the job in the shed but kept putting if off , anyway I was in Bala with a dead 4x4, called the AA explained to the girl I knew what I was talking about and it was a snapped cam belt, not a snapped fan belt and I would need a transporter, she quizzed me more on the phone and I told her I had the cam cover off, the radiator was off to aid access and the cam belt was snapped and even gave the engine code 4JB1 and the “Fan” belt was not an issue as I could have sorted that myself.
Two hours later a van turns up…he asked… “Your fan belt snapped then”
Another two hours a transporter arrived 14 hours later I had fixed it
I feel your pain Drift. When I was working for an AA garage subbie I got called out to recover a car. When I got there the guy wasn’t best pleased, he went on to explain that he was a roadside mechanic for the AA and when the cam belt went on his own car he’d phoned through to control, explained who and what he was, what the problem was, and that he’d need recovery. An hour later a colleague of his turned up, didn’t even look at the car and just requested recovery! Another hour passes and I turned up!
I have to say the guy in the van was a tad unhappy, he drove about 20 miles to get to me just before his shift finished

Hope you remembered to sheet it - most of it would have blown away, otherwise.
