I had a phone call late last night telling me my run to Campbeltown from Grangemouth was cancelled due to bad weather. This is a photo of the rest and be thankful today, it was closed by a landslide again. I drive a fuel tanker to Campbeltown 2-3 times a week, it’s only a matter of time before someone gets washed over the side, the old military road is closed as well.
I dont know why they bother opening that road. Maybe time to admit they ballsed it up and build a new one in a less landslide-prone location?
Rest and be thankful you ain’t dead eh.
The netting they have got in place up there works. Problem is the slides are not in the same place. Something definitely needs doing on that whole stretch of road. Is full of pot holes and is a disgrace considering the amount of traffic that has to use it. My in-laws live out there and every time we go up there, that road just gets worse and worse.
The car driver was very lucky.
