On the A8 this morning, think it was the a73 flyover not sure tho, and there was a a black and yellow checkered camera van with 3 cameras in the roof, has anyone else seen this and is it a mobile speed van, or is it the dvla tax checking, hope its the latter as i was on the limiter, traffic had just cleared and the sun was beaming in my eyes so i was too late to notice it and hide behind something?
Hope not a speed camera, I’ve started using the bike to and from work in this area, sometimes look down and see triple figures on the speedo
I’ll keep a eye out

The Transport Scotland vans (Scottish version of HATOs) are black and yellow checkered and have CCTV on the roof. They also have the message boards on their roofs too which may look like cameras from a side on view. I would think its possibly one of those you seen. DVLA use silver Astra estates.
Someone I know got nicked for speeding there last week.He did not see any camera but maybe that was the one!
The only thing you get on the M8 and A8 is unmarked cars, they range from top eh the line audi’s to ford focus’s. Never seen a speed camera van in my life on this road and i drive it everyday.
Were the cameras pointing towards the ground? Quite a few highways agency vehicles have thermo cameras installed on them to measure the road surface temp. They use this information to make decisions on gritting etc.
it had 3 windows at the top of it similar to ANPR vans, ive looked at pictures of scottish vans and none look like this one, i did see a HATO sprinter with similar markings so hope so, i looked on scottish police website and were it was is not an official location, so fingers crossed, kept my licence clean for 8 years now and with being newly passed class 1 dont wanna muck up my chances of future employment, i could sell the points but it wont wash with the gaffer
its a trunk roads incident support unit, I see it most morning about quarter to 7 sat on the bridge at eurocentral

When you mention a Vauxhall van, that could have been VOSA. I’m sure that’s what they use.
maybe it was, was at lidl today and a few drivers were flapping saying they were about, i didnt see them but a black bmw x5 with 2 moody looking fellas in was floating about, being a scouser my spidey sensors were tingling like
