A75 scotland 40mph!

Odd now that some facts and figures have appeared the Oracle has gone quiet.

My apologies. I went to work where I earn more than you do.

The fact you have plastered your measly wages everywhere concludes that this statement is a lie.

If everyone played by the book and stuck to the 40, the TMs would need to reduce the amount of work given to any driver, they would then need to employ more people and with fewer drivers around they would probably have to offer a little better money. Sticking to 40 could result in more money for less work.
So the question should be; are the flat-to-the-mat boys depressing the pay and conditions of those not too fussed about being the bosses favourite?

wanting the speed limit raised, turkeys voting to have xmas on the 5th of Dec.

Careful mate, you’re talking too much common sense there.
The turkey/Christmas thing has always been a problem with drivers and always will be.
What you have just said to many of us is a case of ‘‘Stating the bleeding obvious’’ unfortunately it aint too obvious for some.
More time allocated to do the job by a scrupulous guvnor = more money/less stress/safer roads.

It makes me [zb] laugh on here that if you don’t go with the flow, you are labelled as self righteous/goody two shoes/boring and all the rest of it,…it’s like being back at school ffs. :unamused:

Nobody with a quarter brain can dispute the fact that a 44 tonner, or worse a pack off 44 tonners going flat [zb] out on an A road is a recipe for disaster, especially at the hands of a [zb] cretin who thinks he’s above the law…(yeh…yawn yawn [zb] boring) but this has been pointed out,…and proven :bulb:
in examples of epic ‘■■■■ up scenarios’ where things have not been too pretty in the end result.

It beats me to [zb] as to why it’s just taken for granted that these d/heads just flount the law (back in boring mode again eh boys) in a country where in other cases you are getting nicked for sipping on your Costa cappucino special while driving. :open_mouth:
As for the locals getting stick for being ■■■■■■ with it, I live in a 30mph zone village, and I’d go ape [zb] if a group of trucks were constantly teararsing through with no regard…end off.

I’m all for putting the limit up to 50, as I said I admit I run somewhere near there myself on the 75, 40 is too bloody slow now, but you would still get these bells running at 60 and beyond safe in the knowledge that they are ‘‘Above the law’’ .

Bring on the abuse all the ‘‘Cool guys’’ :unamused: , I could seriously not give a twopenny [zb] I’m fine with it, and totally [zb] oblivious to it, I’m a big lad . :sunglasses:

Hi Rob,
Is this the image you were hoping to attract?

Yeh I’m waiting for the…‘‘Unplug the jukebox and do us all a favour…Shut the ■■■■ up Rob’’ in an Irish accent.

Still ADAMANT my last post is right though. :bulb:

I’m just too ■■■■■■■ cool for this forum. :sunglasses:

I don’t count hours, I’m not hourly paid so why would I.

You don’t count the hours because you know that if you did you’d have to face the reality of how much of a mug you were being taken for.

Just to humour you, I’ll add up this week’s hours. It comes to a grand total of 43 and a half hours since Monday morning. Call it 44 for the half hour of buying wine.

You utter lizard.

A.

How long before the bossman throws some more work your way then? Maybe when 50+ hours p/w is the norm for you while charging around you’ll think back to this thread

If you have to travel between 30 to 60 miles each way to get to and from work, that agency has to pay better than most, [emoji846]

Even at 65 hours a week I’ll make more per hour than Conor, now we all know how pish his excellent wages are.

So, no, I won’t think of a trucknet thread when I’m working.

New one on me there didn’t realise that they had cancelled all the daytime sailings

If you have had any dealings with the D & G police you would soon realise that they make the Met police look like the most politically correct police force in the UK.

The ferry traffic lunacy takes place at night when the A75 is empty. It’s too busy and too many slower vehicles during the day to speed excessively. You’d know that if you drove the A75.

I don’t have dealings with D&G police because I don’t drive like a moron.

You don’t have to be driving like a moron on the 75 to have dealings with the police up there doing 40 in an Irish reg lorry will also get you a pull and you are met with the phrase “just a routine pull” funny how the other 10 GB reg lorries you were travelling with didn’t warrant “just a routine pull”. In the same way that there are drivers who don’t play 100% by the rules there are also policemen who don’t play 100% by the rules and D & G has more than it’s fair share of those

Exactly right there but these cretins as you call them are the types that do not learn till they die or kill someone else with their selfish attitudes.
I doubt some of them even have quarter of a brain or they might realise how wrong they are because it really does NOT take much to work it out!

Hurryup&wait:
Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools

Possibly, but anyone who parrots old cliches that they’ve heard in truckstops or on the boat like “let her rip”, “full open”, “keep it lit” and all the other garbage that you’d expect to be aired at a gathering of Max Power readers is not a wise man. As for referring to your lorry as “her”… where do you start?

It’s embarrassing hearing grown men carry on like that.

That’s grand and good for you but I live in one of the poorest parts of the UK and my wages are well above average for that part of the world so it is all relative, but comments from others on here who live in GB suggest that your wages aren’t exactly up there either. Also my wages enable me to buy a house in a decent area and not have the local Pablo Escobar living next door to me.

bumbling fool eh

good man.its deffo all relative.
northern ireland isnt the hub of the universe, but its not as polluted as most of the uk for to be living next to the wrong neighbours and such.
virtually no speed cameras, night and day traffic jams, and no hassle in general.the poorparts of the uk are generally overrun toilet ghetto no go citys where you just wouldnt contemplate living and in that repect,n.i is gods country compared to that option.
for your average non lottery winner then its a good place to live.
i wouldnt want to live in then mainland with the way its went in recent years apart from speed cameras everywhere and the gridlock going about your day.
i almost got done a few years ago for 59 heading off the boat down to the link road.late evening, quiet night, nothing on the road in front of me.
the car was sitting up a lane about 100 yards off the road (the lane going up to the wee cottage on the left heading south at the end of the straight section).
i dont see how that would be playing fair as they know it would cost 10 times as much as its worth to contest it in court.
just an unmarked car with a gun, showed my irish licence and took the ticket, queried it a week or so later letting them know they have no right to be taking my licence off me to send to dvla as its an irish one, usual blablabla, then the phone call to tell me its dropped as they should have arrested me at the time and didnt.
if it was a uk licence, then i would have been done completely unfairly as hiding up a lane off road isnt playing fair.
any truck ,car ,motorbike or boat ive owned is called …it…ive no concept of why people refer to thest items as a …she…the logic of that somewhat escapes me also.
id also think that for every truck crash due to overspeed, then there must be at least a similar amount caused by brain dead morons on cruise control in their fleet spec trunk dungheaps bored into a catatonic state on the motorways.
crashes happen everywhere, just because someone was speeding dont make them totally guilty.
if they were going quicker, the accident wouldnt have happened just the same as if they were going slower as they wouldnt have been in the same place at the same time.
and
is this a world record post for multiple members getting tore into driving god conor?
i think theres 5 or 6 on this one alone confirming he talks through his ■■■.
60 mile round trip for a shift, living next to a dealer, agency night trunk with loads of chipboard and the like which is a garbage load to be lifting, and living in hull!!!
id defineately need to be on mega wages to have that lifestyle.
the other snippets of drivvle from uk dr joe damon tramp dont really merit comment i suppose as theyre now wildly recognised as pure pish troling attempts.
sad though when some folk think they are genune and reply.
even sadder to feel the need to have multiple accounts and post to yourself in a vain attempt to justify the post you made in the 1st place…

Rob,
I think you are more The Saint, but instead of riding round in that Volvo coupe like Roger Moore, a white Sed Atki would suit you better with a high roof sir?

Ah yes the wine which you get to sell because you get paid so little you have to bootleg and commit more offences in addition to the driving ones just in order to have enough money to be able to do the shopping.
Somehow I doubt you’ve only done 44hrs duty time since you climbed into your cab on Monday morning and I doubt it’ll be much below 60 when you get out.

Fine but don’t have a go at me and start calling me names like you’re 5 years old in the school playground just because I happen to be in a job where I don’t have to run bent to get a decent wage. And remember my response was a result of your abuse.

Jesus if Oracle offends you so much then you must have a thin skin. Please point where I said I run bent I clearly stated that the run I do is 100% straight, but then that wouldn’t fit with your stereotypical view

(The Sed Atki bit, not the Saint  )
As I was the ‘‘Only Superspace Sed Atk driver in the village’’ at one time.
Give me a clue as to who you are, your name (if that is what it really is) doesn’t ring a bell mate.

We’ll just have a conversation on the side and leave these lot to keep sniping at each other.

You don’t need let the jealousy rip out you so much, you know. That wine I sell made me more than your weekly wage this time around, alongside my regular wage I can more than afford shopping.

You can doubt it all you like, I don’t really care. The rest of us are having a rare old laugh at how your bitter, stereotypical views are so wrong so often.

You tragic, pathetic, rancid little man.

Connor and Adonis, if you want to continue the bickering between you, then take it to PM, email or wherever else you like.
This is the only warning you are getting.

ask yourself the following.
am i solvent enough to be able to buy 80 or so case of plonk out of the cash in my back pocket…yes
will i be able to make a quick 500 quid the second im home by adding on a piddling 1 quid per bottle…yes
will 80 case merit a murder investigation from the customs being free europe and all that mince especially when i keep the till receipt showing french duties all legal and above board?..yes
do i have a friend to offload it onto in the 1st place?.yes

bit of a no brainer whether to bring back a few cases of plonk every trip as it adds on an extra 500 quid or thereabouts for doing very little other than using your initiative and keeing your mates happy.
free trade between member countries and all that?

Was good before trackers and migrants.

After about a dozen incidents so far we will get our P45 now if we slow down within an hour of Calais not to mind stop & shop.

Any decent suggestions■■?
