A74(M) speed limit

Evening all.

Camera van ontop of a flyover on the A74(M) just north of lockerbie.
Driving 26 tonner Rigid at 56mph souhbound. Now from what I can gather the limit for 7.5T n over is 60mph on a motorway in scotland?
Can I expect a NIP?? the reason i ask is when you go onto the motorway off a slip road the signs say “70” in a res circle. Which I thought made it a set limit for all vehicles. Does that over rule the national speed limit??

It’s designated a Motorway by the M after the a74 number, therfore its national speed limit so 70mph for cars and 60mph for trucks.

You’ve nothing to worry about.

Cheers for the reply ppl.

A bit paranoid about scottish speed limits as it’s my 2nd run up there.

I take the A1 is 40mph single, 50 dual?? seems alot of 40mph parts up there to the point of causing obstruction.

Yes that’s right, l was on the very road and at the limits last week and Trailers were leaving me in their wake!!

Cameras on the A1 have a bit of leeway, i go through at 50 and they dont go off
