A685 Kendal to Tebay

Is there any HGV restrictions or obstacles on this side of the A685, including bridges for a 44 tonner running at 13’4"? Was going to use it the other week for a wee change to kill some time up to the truck-stop, but decide against it at the last minute.

I’m sure one of our helpful ■■■■■■■■ members will promptly put me right on this one.
Cheers in advance.

Andy, I live in the area. My advice would be this. If you are ever down this way , in the car, with your missus, and fancy taking her from Kendal to Tebay, via the scenic route. Then by all means do so. It is a twisty road with lots of steep dips, and blind summits, to keep you on your toes. Especially if you meet one of the local “low-fliers”, giving their mates a run-out after a couple of jars in the boozer.
In the waggon. It is safer via the M6, or the A6 to J39, then down to Services on M6.

Thanks mate, I was thinking as much. I’ve seen a few tipper boys flying along the bit you can see from the M6. We tip Kendal and then changeover at Tebay truck-stop. I like to go different routes for a wee change when I can, but was a bit wary about using that route before asking.

Cheers.

Roads ok if your empty Andy as he says few ups & downs but plenty of room.
Use to use it regular after tipping tank at Brewery then on a night shift job tipping at Carslsberg with 15ft Tauts

used it once or twice at 13’10" but in parts overhanging tree branches make a lot of noise!
Only been empty though.
