A66 west fooked

Just after stainmore halfway down hill someone has lost there load. There is 2 parts lying on the road.

Probably the hardest bit will be getting a crane or big hiab near it to lift it back on. Look like a big diesel tank not sure what weight is in them about 6 or 7 ton at a guess? They usually have anchorage points like some of the cabins underneath for securing in transit or failing that plenty straps over it and usually can’t go wrong. Maybe had too few or they have slackened. A66 knackered for a few hours anyway!

looks like a bunded fuel tank

Yeah certainly that or similar anyway, looks like a fair bit of overhang width wise too.

I’ll say it before anyone else does …

Agency

I passed it about 8 this morning, traffic was running ok.
Looks like his strap had sheared, he was waving the traffic over this morning looking severely ■■■■■■ off, felt sorry for him…there but etc etc.
Spoke to a mate about half an hour ago, he reckoned the crane was there then, and traffic still getting past ok.

Strap!?..

As in, just one?

Think we might have found the murderer without asking any of the usual suspects a single question.

straps over steel, not a good combination, but needs must as they say and the fine will no doubt focus his mind on either doing it properly or not loading it until he has the right gear next time,

There was a ■■■■■■■■ the road, but there were also 2 items on the road, so whether one had pushed the other off…who knows, not me anyway.
I aint condemning the guy for not having enough straps on as I did not get that clear a view tbh, so maybe I should not have commented,…no doubt it will all come out.
