Officers are now working to identify the deceased.
Taken from another link posted today: ‘‘Police and Army liaison officers are now working to formally identify the deceased’’
The Land Rover was sandwiched between the two trucks. The rear Daf was partially on top of it and the rest of the Land Rover embedded in the rear of the first truck. Horrific accident
This sort of ■■■■ driving is seen everyday on every road, brainless morons driving two feet behind each other , accidents like this are avoidable. Some pricks will never learn .
Speaking to the police, the poor squaddies were tootling along behind the first heavy in no rush to get where they were going when the collision occurred. Nasty incident indeed.

So true, it is unbelievable that the distances between vehicles is really frightening.
I’ll always back off but the ■■■■ behind me might not and he could be pulling 40+ton If I stop he is potentially going to push me further on
doesn’t bear thinking about really.
I don’t carry body parts or essential fluids so my journey gets there when it does. If it was that important or urgent they they should have ordered it sooner
RIP to those involved

Second that
You really should have called this thread " Tailgating trucker kills two " it would be more accurate than blaming the road…
…or possible mechanical failure…Update.
Having worked on the Howdens contract previously, this seems to be another ‘incident’, again with a tragic ending, (lots of overturned trucks carrying chipboard on the A76). It looks like it was loaded with board from Eggers at Auchlinleck, which has moved forward and twisted the trailer frame forwards. How the army landrover has ended up crushed between the two trucks is baffling, as the Howden motor would have been travelling at no more than 40-45mph up Stainmore.
