it seemed odd to me that the 1st I heard of the road closure that day on R2 was around 2pm and the accident had happened around 4am:?
and can you imagine the physical effect of 18 pallets of liquid (even in 1ltr bottles) moving around. Never mind the effects of having a muppet in a car upsetting the momentum of the truck
Wondered what it was all about, kept hearing about it on the radio. Went that way on monday on the way to Felixstowe.
I totally agree about car or van drivers overtaking then braking, then sometimes accelerating as you try to overtake.
thinking about it, it must’ve been a canutes as it’s only them that do backloads iirc, got to thinking about this, coming from the m1 theres only two possible occassions your gona be on the outside going into a roundabout first one you come to at brown baileys where you take the third exit and last one which is left for retford but most would use the inside lane there, don’t know but maybe a bit more to it than meets the eye? unless it happened coming off the third n going onto the bypass where two lanes become one but he weren’t crawling to turn it over there, thats for sure!

Btw, my apologies to TN for the language edit
I started at 5am and I was told abut it when i started but that was only by another driver who had passed the scene in the earlier hours it was closed both ways.

I understand it was the shireoaks roundabout, so I would approach that roundabout in lane 2 as I would be taking the 3rd exit, as that exit is slightly past the 12 O`clock position so to speak

the details/info are obviously 2nd hand, and obviously the police investigation will find the truth
but he was the 2nd truck trying to safely move, away from, and keep out of the way of the original road rage incident (which had slowed traffic down to a crawl) involving truck 1 and the car which I understand had occured earlier.
why truck 1 and the car where having problems, I dunno
I havent been at work since tuesday so I havent been able to find out more
maybe the nutter in the car has forced the wagon to run down the outside and he’s clipped the roundabout?(theres only three exits the third being for shireoaks) but who knows? not a nice possition to be in for the wagon driver either way even if it was 100% down to the car drivers antics, don’t think i could drive for a while, if again.
how about the two lorrys were messing about racing back to the depot and poor mr car driver on his way to work got caught up in it the lorry lost control and squashed poor mr car driver who was minding his own bussiness.
the two drivers suddenly realised the full extent of their actions and make up a story to get themselves out the mire.

Well i heard that one lorry was behind the car and the other came down
the inside lane and tried to overtake the other lorry and car.
Also the lorry must of been going at some speed to clip the kurb and
roll. also if the two lorry drivers had been having a problem with the
car driver why try and overtake him, and on a roundabout that was
stupid, this looks more like the lorry drivers fault and an inocent
person got killed, will we see a manslaughter charge here. Ever
thought the lorries could of been racing to the depot and are now
fixing there stories. They better hope there tacagrath adds up with
there stories of having to brake and speed up etc.
Well I heard that a truck on the M62 had been involved in an accident and written two cars off. (This was several years ago .)
The thing is, I was the driver of that truck, the truck wasn’t involved in the accident at all. The accident happened less than 100 yds in front of me. I had parked across both of the outside lanes to protect the scene while I and another driver did what we could to assist the injured, then waited for the emergency services to arrive.

There is no word about car overtaking and braking then speeding up.
Dont ask me where i got this into from.
I have seen where the accident took place and just to let you no i am not familular with the area on the round about there are four exits and the car was coming from the Sheffield M1 direction toward Worksop, at the roundabout it was taking the second exit which was basicly straight on, car was in the outside slow lane with one Wilkinson lorry behind it, lorry two that hit the car was in the inside fast lane and overtook the other lorry and proceeded round the roundabout but part way round hit the car (as i say he said he didnt see it). Judging by the skidd and scratching in the road this pushed the car in diaginal direction toward the path next to the first entry lane, the car was pushed into a lamp post and i expect this is when the lorry tipped on top of the car, killing the poor inocent car driver.
Of course the driver did not do this on purpose and must be feeling really bad, but what i dont get is why was he in that lane and the more inportant question is why did he overtake his coleague’s lorry. Cant be of because the car driver was braking and speeding up etc because he said he didnt even see the car. I can only suspect that he decided to race the other lorry or they were racing. I no lorries are big but so are people carrier’s.
If there hadnt of been a lamp post there the car would of gone down a 5ft drop and maybe the lorry wouldnt of followed or if it had i suspect the car would on been on its side and the driver would of stood a better chance of pulling through. Wrong place at the wrong time.
My thoughts go out to the car driver’s family and the lorry driver.
@bimbirner8888 why oh why are you not giveing the enforcement
oficers the time to complete their investigation,so that if it is required
the case and be brought before those whose job it is to deal and hand out
the punishment if it is needed,
AGAIN : A PERSON IS CONSIDERED INNOCENT UNTIL
PROVEN GUILTY
BY THE WAY ARE YOU A ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR OR DO YOU
HAVE A POSITION IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAW■■?
I am fed up with people makeing such remarks as these accusations
have not been proven ,so wait and YES if they are found guilty then by all
means scream your head off,BUT until then why not just wait and see!!
Gazzareth:
Sorry - you are way out of line, doesn’t matter how much of a [zb] he was, he didn’t deserve to die for it.
Maybe not, and I’m not saying that this driver was guilty in this case, but do you think these (insert choice of expletive here) really give a toss about us when they put us in mortal danger by these type of actions? I’ve had this happen to me, the car driver actually tried to run me off the road, and nearly succeeded - I could have died, had I got hold of him I’d have put him in hospital myself.
I have no time for these idiots, if takes a death to teach them a lesson then Amen to that.
