A55 accident

Anyone hit the traffic on the A55 this morning by the Britannia bridge? Lorry with a load of live chickens turned over on the west side carriageway as it was coming off the bridge. Driver is said to be ok and no injuries.

The only way to get onto Anglesey was over the Menai bridge, iv only ever brought a rigid over that bridge and it was bit of a tight squeeze so has anyone on here ever took a artic over and how easy did it go through the arches?

Aye you’re right it is a squeeze always just pull the driver mirror in through the arches just to be on the safe side

Yes,especially with the super duper expensive mirrors on modern lorries. If you broke one years ago,it wasn’t a problem as long as you had a spare glass. The second arch coming off the island is supposed to be the narrowest.I haven’t put a tape measure to it,but wouldn’t dispute it either.

Was it on its way to a Welsh Country foods in Gaerwen?

Wouldn’t fancy taking one through anyway  can imagine how expensive it would be to replace the whole mirror one of our lads lost the back cover and that was a couple of quid to replace.

Can double deckers use the menai bridge

Been over the Menai Bridge many a time, whenever the Britannia Bridge is closed to high siders. Sometimes I seem to be the only one who.does though.

Think it a 15’6" height restriction on it,

A lot of driver seem to ignore the signs when the Britannia Bridge is closed to high spiders and go over anyway.
