RIP driver, condolences to his family and colleagues

Luke Carter sounded like a top Bloke, my sympathies to all his family and freinds.

On the layby parking issue, isnt it about time that industrial estate owners, like magna park are forced to provide parking in proportion to the amount wharehousing space they lease out.

Our company prohibits us from layby parking, and arent keen on industrial estate parking either. we have account at some places, and use the fuel card at others. and was offered cash advance off £50 when I started, though i chose not to take it, as i can manage to “lend” my own cash for a week when it arrises. Thats the way it should done.

Hexenhammer:
Evening Ladies and Gents, I learned this afternoon, that it was one of our drivers. At this moment in time I,and all the other drivers have been left devestated. Luke had driven for N R Evans for 18 years and was a cool, laid back and funny guy. He was married with 2 teenage children. Luke will be sorely missed.
At this moment in time,we have no idea how/why it happened, police are still carrying out their investigation. I only hope that the driver whose vehicle was hit is alright.

RIP Luke. You were a good friend.

I haven’t logged on for months so it’s the first time seen this thread. This came as such as shock on the day; the mood in our depot was so sombre, even though only a handfull of us had ever met Luke, we were all saddened by the loss.

RIP Luke.

Paul, N R Evans, Aldridge.

My mind goes back to the 80’s when 2 Wilkinson drivers parked in those layby’s and as one stood between both trucks taking a pee the rearmost was rear ended pushing it forward killing that driver and the attractive young lady who was riding along with nim.
The carriage of unauthorised passengers was from that day strictly forbidden in Wilkinson (Later Federal Express) lorries.
