A429 Cirencester to Chippenham?

There’s a low bridge on this road near to M4 anybody know the height please ?

If you mean the one on the Cirencester side of the m4 the map says 14 foot dead.

Lovely job thanks that’ll be ok, I should get a truckers atlas .

Either that or close your eyes and take a run at it :grimacing:

It’s a fridge trailer so should be fine !

Made it no probs in fact was a pleasant road much more scenic than the motorways and I even saw a selection of 747’s and other aircraft parked right next to the road and the tail of one jumbo was almost overhanging the road.

Kemble Airfield: they get cut up for scrap there

That’s about what I thought, was a strange site to see though. :open_mouth:

Not half as strange as watching one landing there for the last time in it’s life!

DUCK!!! :open_mouth:

It’s hullavington bridge and its marked up on the bridge at 4 meters

The planes are a bit close!

4.2m

There’s also a back way (immediate right heading north off Jn 17) as well round the lanes, that’s okayish in a truck, it’s marked 4.5m but it’s on a steepish winding slope. It’s a good alternative in an 8 wheeler ro-ro skip truck but wouldn’t fancy it with a 4.5m trailer.

You can squeeze a little over 4.2m under as well you also can set the overheight sensors off southbound but not northbound with the same trailer and load which is interesting - and no-one behind as ever flashed me every time I do.

It’s all a very similar experience to the Wilton bridge at Salisbury further south
