A420 Shrivenham

Has anybody on here been prosecuted for going through the village yet.
Signage says no entry for + 7.5t without delivery documents.
Had a drop there today and there was a trading standards “video equipped” car parked on the grass at the turning coming from Swindoncestershire. Was expecting to get stopped and checked, didnt.
If you have been a naughty boy and thought you got away with it . . . there could be a letter in the post.
Can they retro check?

They’ve put signs up in Lechlade saying “unsuitable for hgvs.” Since when? Just because the A420 is closed that doesn’t mean the A361 is suddenly unsuitable. I ignored it and turned left and went over the bridge (I’m not long enough to worry about the length limit), as it’s a bit stupid to stick “unsuitable for hgvs” right in the middle of town where lorries can’t heed the warning and turn around.

I noticed a few of these “Not Suitable for HGV’s” signs on a few drops this week. I continued to drive the route I was on because I had no choice really.

The one that gets me is the 7.5T restriction except for “access” or “loading” or “unloading”.

I always feel like a naughty school boy if I have to drive on it to get to my drop.

I had one drop where the loading bay was in the car park that was only accessible through a 7.5T restriction “except for Access” …so I went down the road. It wasn’t far, maybe 10 metres. But still daft.

There is now a 7.5t weight limit on the Burford Road in Brize Norton which starts near the entrance to Smiths’ Burford Quarry (the one where the Bekstone blocks are made). It’s not been there long and might’ve come about because Smiths have reooened the old stone pit at nearby Whitehill.
I’ve noticed a few new “unsuitable for hgvs” blue signs cropping up around Oxfordshire; I suspect as a cheaper alternative to creating a proper weight limit which with Oxfordshires’ crap transport policies, would cause chaos.

break into a sweat, on the verge of crying.
No matter how bad you feel at the time, there is always somewhere worse.
Rocca Canevese springs to mind.
