Got to go from launceston to Barnstaple on Tuesday was just wondering if that A388 is a decent rd i know the A386 is a bit naughty in places , replies much appreciated folks
I regularly use it, it ain’t brilliant in places, but there again I’m never in a hurry.
There’s a low bridge in Holsworthy, so you need to do a right before you get to the town, then the next left which is a bit iffy and narrow if you meet another truck, but you’ll get through no bother, then past the cattle mkt, and back on the main drag.
You won’t break any speed records, so allow enough time.
Alternatively head towards Okehampton and pick up the 386.

No bother mate, go back that way empty and see what you think, it is passable, but as you probably know a lot of the so called ‘A’ roads down there are more like ‘B’ s.

know what you mean Rob, our yard is on the side of the 386… when I go up the road it’s like being on dual carriageway when on the single carriageway taking 12 footers around our patch and into Cornwall sorts the men from the boys
