Twice in the last month or so this busy by-pass has been shut for flooding and its a right ■■■, on me way to Poole this morning so ended up diverting down to Weymouth then across to Wareham, why on this busy road can they not get anything better sorted ?
Come up north and you’ll see real suffering from the flooding
ya i hear you .
cant remember it being so bad B4 …
princey built his silly housing estate for posh people .
i cant say definitively its his fault …
but it pleases me greatly to do so . .
i guess tho a trouble maker might argue that whence travailing yonder twixt Avonmouth fer Poole its wise just to bumble down the A350 for if ever there was a road worth driving whatsoever then the A350 is that road .
but , alas , i am not that trouble maker so i shall not mention this fact , here , now or ever .

You have been to the same Pondbury that I know have you? Part of the problem with the place is that there is too much social housing there. So you pay good money to love in a nice new house and you end up living next to a scrot who is living off the state.

Ahh, the boulevard of broken mirrors. I avoid it like the plague, but the other road has been closed ever since that landslide.

The other road you quote has been back open for 6 months or so it now has traffic lights where the landslide was,However I prefer to turn right at the airfield straight over x roads down hill to Ludwell left on A30 back into Shaftesbury vice versa going south.
A350 is a motor way compared to the A352 from Sherborne that’s like a small B road in places I had fun in a 18t so no good for a 44t

I done it last year ok had a drop in Weymouth followed by Hunts foods at Sherbourne so went up the A352 it is a bit narrow in places but very quiet and only passed 1 hgv if i remember correctly and you pass through some lovely villages, it’s also a diversion for anything over 16 ft.

I was travelling on the A35(E) on that Sunday night, it was open around 19:00, but on the way back 3 hrs later I saw the Police has closed the eastbound of the A35
Alternative to avoid the dodgy detour is that to have a TomTom satnav with LiveTraffic. You can buy a car sat-nav for around 129 GBP it will come with Lifetime Maps, and Lifetime LiveTraffic.
It will route you through Dorchester (B3147-B3150) cos it’s in car mode. You have keep the eye on it, but you will see the closure when you plan the route. Also a good idea to have a look on Google Maps, and if it’s red, look for alternative.
Look the trafficengland.com/traffic-alerts
I’m sure it was listed there too before the morning.
Next time if you want to stay away from the tiny roads in the area,it’s better if you use from Yeovil: A30 Babilon Hill - A352 - A3030 Sherborne - A357 Lydlinch - A350 Blandford Forum - Poole

I saw no HGV but abut 5 tractors towing sludge tanks

Hunts foods at Sherbourne
That place is a bum clencher first time you visit! I remember my first visit thinking “ah crap, I’m about to appear on page one of Trucknet!” Shortly followed by “bloody sat nav, it’s the bin for you you piece of crap”.

Yeah it’s a funny way in past J Sainsburys, went there for the first time a couple of years ago and thought i’d been given a bum steer when i was told to turn along by Sainsburys and then along that narrow road, and when you get there you have to go right around the back and prey you don’t meet anything bigger than a push bike, i went there once just gone 14.00 hrs and had to blind side it all the way round to the fuel pumps to enable myself to get out, it is a strange place.

That’s an option, it used to depend largely on wether the tanker was (part)loaded or empty (6 axle artic tanker on milk collections for Westbury. Oh the fun we had…), which hill to attempt. … Zig zag hill is good fun too if going to the Cranborne chase area.
Guess what ! flooded AGAIN !today FFS
