A34 Lorry Overtaking Ban

Looking at the report in the Oxford Mail it looks like “HGV driver Bill Service, 62” has driven for Tescos at some point* and takes our safety seriously. :unamused:
*and wears a hi viz even in his car.

burnley-si:
wouldnt a 60mph speed limit be better for cars :grimacing:

+1, wouldn’t effect us, then the car drivers wouldn’t get so wound up at having to drop just a few mph.

I noticed quite a few lorries just “convoying” on the A34 today, at one point behind a Waitrose wagon instead of trying to pass. Confusion that the ban must be in place, or a protest vote? I joined the merry procession this afternoon Southbound from the M40 down to Pear Tree, cruise off doing around 50ish, not moving over for cars on the sliproads etc.
Which made me think that the “must use cruise” mentality has a case to answer for.

Mr Greene said: “A lot of problems are caused by these HGVs overtaking each other and that frustrates the ordinary driver.”

His motion said the council was “concerned and alarmed at the recent number of major traffic accidents”

Oh zb off. Lets ignore all the morons in cars ducking and diving around, slicing across the front of a lorry just to make their exit…
