So what happened to all the burger vans on the A34 between Newbury and Oxford? I remember a few years ago there was one in every lay-by almost, but now not one! They all seemed to disappear overnight?

Council probably decided they made the area look scruffy so just withdrew all of the licences. It’s not unusual in areas with a large population of NIMBYs.
Oxford hate cars let alone trucks.

I think they were pushed out on safety grounds; I can’t recall any between Oxford and the M40 either. Any chance the service stations on said route have had a hand in axing the T-Coli merchants?

I have mentioned this in the past, before they bypassed Newbury and Silverstone, there were Tea vans everywhere. We used to stop on our way to Pompey with Lewis’s

wouldnt suprise me if the foods hygiene standards or wat ever they are called got rid of the rubbish ones
The council pushed them out as they said it was dangerous for trucks to be pulling out of laybys yes I did say that
That was dispite police opposition basically the toffee nosed nimbies didnt want trucks stopping on Oxfordshire well done Oxfordshire council you took away place for drivers to get food and drink on main artery where they would be requiring a break

Yes… and I can recommend it to anyone… i usually have the roll and lorne and a few onions with ketchup, a couple of Mr Tunnock’s finest tea cakes and a cup of rosie, spot on.
Nah Mr Tunnock’s wafers are better!
