You guessed it…i kick myself…been down that road thousands of time.
Set it off doing about 52…in a forty.
Any ideas on the fine and points?..ahhhhhh had a clean ticket for five years
…
£60 and 3 points.
Registered owner should get ticket within 14 days .
you can take your chances in court if you want
There is a website that lists lots of get out of jail clauses you can try
sorry I cant remember what it is but no doubt someone on here will know
A lot of the get out of jail cards have been sorted
If you elect court be ready for the pos of a bigger bill ie costs etc and I dont know if the extra point system has started.
I know you say clean for 5yrs but does the judge have the past info when he passes judgement ■■ if so he might up the anti on the fine, I dont know but worth thinking about it.
thanks lads
Don’t worry too much about the points and the fine Olly, worry about the fury you’ll unleash on here from all the fine folk who’ll consider your offence worthy of public beheading, and won’t hesitate to tell you so.
Thing is the A303 is a good road in places and i agree that in places the speed could be higher for hgv’s as a lot of us agree this for many roads.
I’m sure there could be a revised speed limit placed so that a sign could be erectied showing a lorry with the max speed allowed to ease things
And yes i am one of the people that will stick to the limit only because It’s my only form of income
1 parent ( thats me)
1 house ( with mortgauge)
2 kids ( getting older and costing me more )
1 x wife ( mind she dont chase me for anything now )
I’ve done other jobs but really am only good at the job I have always loved and do.
If a petition was raised for upping the speed limits i would be 1st to sign not that i would gain from it cause i get paid by the hour, just so that it would allow the flow of traffic to improve on certain roads

I don’t think beheading is in order, or even a ‘told you so’. It’s about choice and consequence - as you said in a previous post (below) on this topic. The bold type was included for reference.
“Oh for Gods’ sake.
Another bloody post so that people can say “look at me, look how pious I am”.
Well you’re not. If anyone can come on here and say they’ve never once broken the speed limits then they’re a LIAR.
I speed, I speed every time I get in a vehicle. I speed in places where I judge it’s safe to, judgement that has come with over 27 years accident free driving. 40mph on a clear dry summer morning with no traffic up the A9 is ridiculous. I don’t give a rats ■■■ if it’s the law. The law in this particular case is wrong. 30mph past a newsagent near a school is not breaking the limit, but it’s too fast for the conditions.
See, I know when it’s prudent to slow down, but I’m also a grown up so I will use my judgement as to my use (misuse) of speed.
And yes, before you start whining about me killing a family of 50 church goers on their people carrier, I know the law and I know the consequences, so wind your necks in.”

Good for you
I just said I stick to it …Yes i have in the past broken the limits
Yes i plodded up th M4 at just over the 70 limit in the car
I just said in the truck I stick to the limits yes Im and adult but it dont mean i’m a goody 2 shoes so you have had 27 yrs accident free driving does that mean your a fantastic driver or just lucky . I dont have any reason to speed in my job as we have loads of time to the job. I understand drivers are under pressure to get the job done but in the place i am we’re never under pressure [/b]

Thats the thing aint it live and let live If your lucky and get away with it fine
If you get caught fine you gotta live with it
As for Olly it was just bad luck what happened to him as for the beheading na that aint right thought it was cut the right foot off
at least ur still rollin olly hope some numpty stuffs up and loses the nip for you
If it makes you feel any better olly we had a guy caught on the same camera 2 days running and he goes down that bit of road twice a week,
Well I’ve taken my medication and calmed down since my post about speeding
And to be perfectly honest someone posting later on that thread summed it up far better than I did when he said that he speeded regularly but if he caught someone up doing the limit well it wasn’t the end of the world, he’d just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Pretty much what I do TBH.

I’ll stay on the motor way as much as i can but I’ll be often seen going round the round abouts on the A46 a few times lettin traffic go past one guy i caught up with in the garage thought i was lost or polish and offered me directions

…
chilmark (or whatever the place is called)? i got done there in 2002. accepted 3 points and £60 fine. all done through the post
Sorry to see that its happened to you. There is no point fighting the system,I bought a book last year called the drivers bible or some such after reading a load of drivel it says if it was a camera that does you then you are stuffed.Remember to tell your car insurance provider so they can have there share as well,it is another henious crime if you dont.I was in my car on the A85 on Sunday was overtaken by an artic while I was doing 60 mph.IMHO.he was going a bit fast but not really causing a hazard.I suggest you buy a Sat.nav and use it even when you know the route as they give an audible warning of cash cows.Hope the rest of your new year is a bit happier.
Blimey didnt mean to start a riot…
Yeah anyway…my fault entirely…i accept the outcome.
I thought that a speeding in an artic or truck was a lot more severe…ie double the points.
Do i speed regular…no not as a given…otherwise i guess id have no licence…
Im not on hourly rate…it was the middle of the night and nothing on that stretch of road…and to be honest i wanted to be back in bed with me wife.
Do i agree with fines…yes
Do i agree with points…no…unless its taking the wee wee
All it does is give insurance companys free reign to take the wee wee…
Still if the goverment insist in giving people money for doing nothing but sitting on their backside i suppose they gotta get the money from somewhere.
Thanks for the info lads…olly
Olly,
If it was that camera half way up a steep hill in Wiltshire you have my sympathies, that’s a lorry specific camera as it’s in a 60mph speed limit area, I got flashed myself there for 51mph ( slower than you, you speed freak ) Anyway long story short, somehow the NIP never arrived
so when the follow up landed on the mat I, like any law abiding citizen, phoned the Gestapo Traffic Camera Safety Alliance & said that I hadn’t received the NIP, I said that I was the driver of the vehicle at the time, Ok said the Stormtrooper, ‘send us back your details & you may as well send your licence at the same time’ I then asked about the 14day period that a NIP was supposed to be sent & asked them to prove that they had indeed sent one, eg registered post? ‘Oh no, we don’t do that’ she said, so I replied ‘As it is now more than 14days after the offence was commited there is no reason for me to do this, is there?’ ‘Err no’ was the reply, bye bye
I know the camera your talking about but didnt realize it was lorry specific.
Thanks for that.
Come to think of it…most of em must be lorry specific then.
The camera in question was one we call “twin sisters” one facing east and one facing west on a high ridge but cant think of the name of it…
Still i take it on the chin…lesson learnt.
