Just thought I’d share this snippet of info with you.
Got caught in the A3 diversion last week which cost me quite a bit of time due to diversion signs being rarer than a speeding Tesco truck.
Road is closed at night from Guildford to the other side of Hindhead tunnel with traffic diverted from Guildford along the Hogs Back A31.
Shortly after start of diversion there is a sign to rejoin A3 for Portsmouth, ignore it as it won’t get you anywhere, instead follow A31 and watch for signs with black triangle on yellow background which will take you all the way back to A3.
When you get to roundabout at A31/A325 to Bordon, if you’re over 13ft 9in forget the triangle and follow the black square instead.
It is a very long diversion but at least at night time you can get a move on.
