A267 - WHY??!!

Anyone out there used the A267 from Tunbridge Wells towards Eastbourne? It starts off badly turning into the A267 from the A26 at the Pantiles althought the barriers don’t look like they’ve been repalced recently which is surprising! Part of the road is so narrow that two trucks can’t pass without hitting mirrors in the bushes and there are some nasty bends and hills. Little London is particularly bad and Horam is tight round the island if anyone is badly parked outside the shops.Really surprised the petrol tanker companies don’t do a risk assessment on this road as the supermarkets seem to use the A26/A22. There is a good alternative via A26 and A22 with wide roads and at least you can get a run at the hill towards Crowborough. I think this route is about four miles longer but must be quicker and more fuel efficient.

Used to live in Heathfield, missus comes from Horam
I loved that road in an artic :sunglasses: Sorts out the men from the boys

Try driving in cornwall and devon then

If you know a better alternative route why are you not using it
It would mean less traffic on the route you are using now
Everyones a winner if you follow your own advice

I certainly do! Just querying why some drivers risk awkward roads such as the A267 when there is a viable alternative. There is no obvious advantage (eg time saving) to use this route but you still see drivers turning off. Maybe some are deliverieng to intermediate places but I’m sure some are using it as a through route. When leaving Eastbourne the northbound route signs for Tunbridge Wells shows A22. It is the sort of road you only use once I think!
