A228 rochester bound

I was driving between the m20 and m2 on the a228 just before the m2 j2 and my truckers sat nav warning me of 15 ft 8 bridge ahead, as I got closer yes there is a bridge but not where the sat nav warns and there is no height on the bridge or in my truckers map book any one know. thanks

Here, Cuxton rd is the part of the A228 t’other side of the Medway bridge.

Bridge works have now increased this bridge’s height to 16’, which helps out the local Swains yard.
There is still the 15’9" bridge on the main Strood High Street though, which means vehicles of and exceeding this height cannot use Rochester Bridge at all. Use Medway Tunnel or the M2.

Meanwhile, on this stretch of the A228 late at night - beware of bricks and stones being lobbed off bridges, especially now the warm summer nights are upon us…
This bridge is Cemetary Road, Halling. That, and it’s neighbouring bridge Vicarage Road (near the blue lake) often have a van or two parked on it at night, which would obscure any yobbos lurking up there, half-bricks in hand… :frowning:
