He was probably a Mackem.
Or a sandancer

Ah Rob it appears you where invited to a 3 sum.
Basically your supposed to flash in acceptance of said invite and follow to suitable area. The use of candles also signals a spit roast is on the cards a la burning the candle at both ends.
Bit of a cryptic one used by posh totty.
One of those situations when I don’t know if you are winding me up or being serious Dave …ok I admit it I even googled it to see if you were right
…couldn’t find anything, surprise surprise so you definitely had me going you ■■■■
Quite pleased really as it was a bloke doing the candle chucking, and I know which side my breads buttered.
Ah but does Robroy know which way his wick’s waxed?
Could have been an old flame.

HC Rule 168
Being overtaken. If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle passThe onus is on the driver being overtaken to take action so that the overtake does not last longer than necessary
Disagree with that. If you are overtaking its up to you to make sure you can get passed.
A scenario I encounter on a daily basis is vehicles overtaking on the crest of a hill who can see I’m fully freighted (flat bed) but don’t use their noodle knowing that they will A end up getting hung out to dry or B me having to sit on the brakes all the way down the other side of the hill.

This happens a lot I wouldn’t get your knickers in a twist. Usually it’s not a form of malice usually the car driver is just in cuckoo land. For example car overtakes you and pulls away into the distance then a mile or so down the road you catch it and need to overtake it. Then another half a mile or so it overtakes you again and again pulls away into the distance and yet again 1/2 mile down the road you come across it again. Thick as a plank of wood the carnage they are causing to the flow of traffic.
Think my record is 5 times I overtook the same car on the A77/M77 between Ayr and Newton Mearns. This was me only doing 52 aswell.
EVERY [ZB] DAY
Why do so many car drivers feel the need to drive at under 50 on that ■■■■ road?

This should be a mandatory sign on the side of every trailer

If a driver gets alongside you it’s usually a sign that he/she is faster than you. Why hang them out to dry just to prove a point.
Don’t get me wrong, in certain situations I might do just that. For instance, a fully freighted wagon tries to overtake you just before a hill knowing he isn’t going to make it. I ain’t losing momentum on a big hill.
But, on the flat in a regular cruising situation I will back off and let them past. all it takes is a few clicks to turn an elephant race into a simple 20-30 second overtake and everyone is happy.
I guarantee you your arrival time on your sat nav will not change.
It always puzzles me why some drivers (not mentioning anyone in particular, just in general) are happy to elephant race all day long. Why would anyone want to travel with another wagon a few feet away from them for such a long time. I prefer to have a little breathing space, never know when you might need to swerve a bit.
I back off regularly and often get a wave/thanks as they pass As said above I like a little space as well.

It all comes down to ‘‘drivers and steerers’’
A driver will automatically back off a couple of clicks for a couple of minutes to let another driver pass.
A steerer will leave you hanging, acting like a complete self centred ■■■■.
And to the guy who says it is the overtaker’s responsibility…maybe so mate, but have you never made a misjudgement on speed and mometum, and even if you do feel you are ‘‘in the right’’ …so what, is it really so important to get stressed about ■■■■ all, just back off a k and have a less stressfull day.
