Two killed locally (grimsby) jumping rail barriers in last 2 days too thing is locally all common sense out the window there is information locally suggesting the car driver overtook into path of lgv if thats the case then the car driver is to blame for wiping his/her family out

That’s my thought on it, on coming vehicle was in the wrong. Had the truck been drifting there would be tyre marks and a different tragectory. The lgv attempting to avoid a vehicle in its path is likely to want to swerve off the road and not into it.

Either way a tragic loss of life, condolences to all involved.

Because the driver was lacking common sense to drive through train warning lights and half barriers

first of all mod’s are gonna want to split these post’s from here,

too jj192, was there any need for that comment? there are 3 family’s currantly who are having to come to term’s with this incident, the driver’s family, the passenger’s family, and the train driver and his family. can we have a bit of respect please?
i knew the driver and the passenger of that car, and they will be sorely missed, sure people can do the job’s at where they worked but nobody can replace these people.
at the site where we work, there are 3 open railway crossing’s none of them have warning light’s just sign’s, one of which we all have to cross to get to work. the other 2 are on site and we all cross them at one point during the day.

and who said they had run the light’s?

They jumped warning lights and half barriers at the crossing where they died i was merely saying i have sympathy for the families having to go through theyre ordeal of the unnecessary deaths due to the drivers actions

oh that’s brilliant news, can you phone the British transport police (0800 405040) and quote incident reference 516 of 9/04/2013, and tell them you have solved it, that way it can save the heartbreak of putting the family’s through an inquest please.

According to a local paper, the dead were a mother father 2 teenage girls and a 2 year old, that so sad regardless of the circumstance.

This is sad and in both cases i feel we should spare a thought for both the train driver and the LGV driver in todays crash who witnessed and where involved in such tragic and avoidable deaths ,it cannot be easy

Dafman:
F Sake let the bodies go cold first before you all start with the detective work.

The detectives from the Police have already done the detective work, they’re quoted in the paper as saying the car hit a kerb or tried to overtake someone and hit the lorry in the process, so as the car hit the lorry it was the car that was on the wrong side of the road and therefore at fault :bulb:

So what did happen, the police and railway say that the lights and barriers where working and they where both local who knew the crossing was there.

Regardless of HOW the poor buggers died, surely the fact that they HAVE died and that someone on here knows them personally should mean that a little compassion is in order… :unamused: :unamused:

RIP and condolences to all involved :frowning:
