A17 Leadenham speed camera

For the non observent amongst us,the camera at the bottom of the hill at Leadenham,on the A17 near Newark has gone. :smiley:

However…

I’ve just found out,that Lincolnshire speed camera partnership,have replaced it with a mobile cash machine instead.So,whereas before you could slow down on approach to the camera,the van will get you,before you see it. :angry:

I know there are one or two TN members that have been caught on the static camera in the past,so now the chances of them catching anyone going even a few mph over the speed limit,have greatly increased. :angry:

I think it got set a light again a couple of weeks ago :sunglasses: probably got fed up with replacing it, a least they take the mobile home when they’ve done for the day.

That one at the Bottom of Leadenham Hill was took away a week gone Friday along with the one just over the crossing at Swineshead Bridge which was set on fire around 6 weeks ago :laughing: :laughing:

It’s Probably to give the Night Shift Drivers a free hand at doing whatever they like speed wise along the A17, 2 companies in particular jump to mind one from Fakenham and another from Gt Yarmouth :unamused: :unamused: they can give a formula 1 car a run for their money :smiling_imp:

I came along there around 3 weeks ago at 5am with Fog patches on the roads where at times you couldn’t see a hand in front let alone the road and I was branded as the [zb] (according to the hand signs as they passed :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: ) because I was sticking to 40mph. Tough :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: I aint being made to break the law for anyone so they can push as much as they like, if they are stuck behind me then tough crap, they dont pull over to let speeding cars past on a motorway so why should I pull over to let them speed as well, I to have a destination to reach.

What these Morons tend to forget is, they may encounter an accident ahead in which they are not involved in anyway, but if the old bill decide to check their tacho’s then they are still liable to the mandatory £60 fine and 3 points even though it was not their fault the accident ocurred.

Whilst we are on about the bottom of Leadenham Hill there are signs posted advising of Road Works there lasting 10 weeks starting from 3rd October so be prepared for delays as it’s probably going to be single file traffic light controlled :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: And to think I go along there every Night Sun - Thurs it certainly looks like it will be fun from 5am coming homewards when all the traffic starts to move. :angry: :angry:
