While on the A16 motorway earlier heading towards the Belgian border, I was in slow moving traffic for about five minutes. It soon became apparent that everyone was rubber necking the accident on the other side of the crash barrier. An artic on its side blocking two lanes.
Now, although I’ve seen plenty of prangs involving cars, I’ve somehow gone through life without ever really seeing a truck crash (apart from youtube), so it was quite surreal seeing this Scania artic on its side, the load bursting out of the box trailer. It sort of brings it home to you what can result if it goes wrong while driving one of these bendy things. Hopefully the driver escaped serious injury.
The motorway is closed and I’ve got to return that way shortly, so I guess I’d better get the maps out. Drive safe chaps !
