Travelled this stretch of road quite a few times through Lincoln and out towards Sleaford but on Friday I noticed some signs which say no access to vehicles carrying inflammatories/explosives. Don’t remember seeing them before so just wondered if they were new and what’s the reason behind them?
i live near lincoln, the sign’s are on the way down the hill but not up the hill, as you know going down the hill is fun, it must be an avarage of about 8% hill, from the traffic lights at the top it’s a right hand bend, then a sweeping left hand bend going down hill. up nexd is a bloody hard 90 degree right hand bend, if you overshoot, it’s through a lowbrick wall and down a cliff in to lincoln college , down the hill the road starts to open up in to 2 lane’s, round a left handed and stand on the brakes for the traffic light’s, if there green you level out just in time for the 30mph speed camera.
local’s call it lindum hill.
http://g.co/maps/5e9ga follow the road south the top traffic light’s are at the junction with greetwellrd/gate
the one’s at the bottom of the hill are with b1308 and silver street, do street view for a drive down the hill if you want to
As Philgor says they are on the downward stretch of lindum hill only and have been there as long as I can remember ( about 20 mins with my memory lol)
Just mind the speed camera at the bottom as it is live
Oh right, I must av been asleep every other time Ive been down it then as never noticed before! And the christmas market is on in lincoln at moment so no chance of even activating the camera at bottom! Chocka!
Lincoln city disproves the idea that Lincolnshire is flat.
been there at least 22 years!

i’ll back you up with tha, there’s steep hill (name gives it away) you can’t drive up or down it though.
another one going around the back of the castle, that’s fun in a car you do not come out of first gear.
and then there’s a dead end resedental street, about 4/5% all of the car’s are parked down hill, in gear and hand brake well on. you do not stop up hill, it’s a clutch killer that hill.
