Serious MULTIPLE pile up must have been 20+ emergency vehicles heading towards it, steer clear of it!!

My armchair investigation suggests car hit parked lorry, then car struck by another lorry.

You’d think they’d wake up and do something about this road.

What a pathetic comment to make.Have you never thought for one minute that it may well be the drivers fault as it usually is.
Drivers will not drive to the conditions and will not keep a safe travelling distance and until they do these multiple pile ups will keep happening.
The latest news is that the badly damaged car was nothing to do with the initial collision.

I don’t think it is a stupid comment at all, he has a point. That road is a dodgy road, hence the speed cameras all the way down it. Now i think they should make it a 3 lane A road as it is the main trunk road for HGv’s to transport goods

It is a stupid comment and how is it a dodgy road? How does making it 3 lanes make it undodgy or safer?

The car ran into the back of the stationary truck who had a blow out, and had left a warning triangle further back. Car then bounces into the 1st lane which then involves the other 2 trucks.

Car drivers fault…not the road.

Why do people always want to blame the road. They blame everything but themselves these days.Maybe the road could be improved but if driving standards improved a lot of these accidents would not happen.Maybe in this particular accident it was down to unfortunate circumstances as the details of what happened seem to vary.
It is the same with the A9 in Scotland. When there is a bad accident everyone blames the road.Never anything to do with bad driving and impatience although the police usually confirm that to be the cause.

The"road"is an inanimate object, and as such does not play any part in an accident like this, the reason,is,drivers not driving to the conditions,be it weather, traffic,or a combination of both, and,at times,a lack of concentration on the job in hand,ie,driving!

The road cannot be to blame, because hundreds of drivers can travel it and not crash. You drive to the conditions.

So what do you elite drivers think should be done about the road then?

How can any road be to blame? Drive to the conditions, simples !

Ban cars and light vans from using it.

What about trucks, they’ve crashed a few times on the 14 aswell…

But people obviously arent, so what do you do about it, just let the accidents continue or do something about it?

Nothing. Can you tell everyone how this road or any other caused an accident. If any road was at fault then there would be constant accidents.
The road did not cause this accident, the car ran into the truck, similar to another accident further down the A14 yesterday when a car ran into a truck in a layby…was this the roads fault too?

So best just to let people carry on dying then is that what your saying?

One person died at the scene and at least one other has sustained serious injuries.

'Firstly condolences to family and friends of the person not going home and hope the other parties pull through.

DISCLAIMER

The following comment is not based on the events that occurred earlier but simply my opinion.

From what i remember from the last couple of weeks then it isnt the first time its been shut due to accident. I think we are up to three? I know there was a truck on truck (parked in a shallow layby last week)

For those that travel the 14 regularly then you know that at several points you will meet the caption slow brothers. Those drivers that are limited and/or dragging the job out and suddenly we have an “elephant race” (I think that was the terminology that was used). Car drivers get held up and SOME can be annoyed by this. When the trucks do manage to get past then the cars are off like the proverbial off of a shovel.

Would 3 lanes help? Possibly. At least that way we dont end up with a no overtaking zone like towards Catthorpe (I cant seem to remember many accidents within this section, though they probably have occurred.
The one thing I would like to see is more deepset laybys. Those that have some kind of barrier between you and the road.

I prefer the shallow ones, much less risk of diesel theft as it isnt really possible to get along side the truck, i do mount the kerb as much as i can though.

Reads the above comment and contemplates a smart intelligent response

Weirdo… That is all!!

All joking aside, whilst I can sleep anywhere and i get what your saying, given the choice i will always go for deep.
