A14 Cash for Crash

Hi all,

Watch out on the A14, a very good mate of mind thinks he was done with cash for a crash last week, even the police think it was that.

Got flashed out then the Merc car picked up speed he thinks, then it was to late and could not get back into his lane. Not much damage but the people 4 in the car had a neck problems after?

I dont think so.

Cheers

Welly

any idea whereabouts on the A14?

Why don’t they just stop people from being able to claim full stop? Have a neck injury?, get well soon thank you card thats your lot.

Would that really be fair if a muppet decided to drive into your car, causing you an injury that prevents you from going to work and earning a living for a couple of weeks or whatever?
Some jobs may be possible to do with a whiplash injury, ours definitely isn’t one of them.

Sure, I’d guess at the majority of whiplash claims being bogus, but I did have it and it ■■■■■■■ hurts and there’s no way you can drive at all when you’ve got it, can’t move your head quickly and can barely move it slowly, so checking at junctions, checking mirrors, seeing where that beep has just come from etc etc etc…

Unfortunately, it’s become the biggest scam, and as such is always seen as a scam, but sometimes it’s not and it’s those cases where it needs to be paid out on.

I’d say reduce the ‘compensation’ drastically, but you still need to cover loss of earnings - which is easy for the scammers since most are unemployed.

The biggest cost of any claim is usually legal fees

From what he said it was around the Huntingdon area a few miles South of that area.

Interesting,

About 6 weeks ago I was eastbound on the 14 at Catworth when a silver/grey car came by me and then pulled in sharply in front of me and forcefully hit the brakes.

I was on the limiter and it was sheer good fortune that the outer lane was empty and I managed to swerve round them.

Although I was concentrating on avoiding it I did manage to get the reg number as it zoomed off.

Shook me up as it happened completely out of the blue, no obstruction ahead and no incident beforehand, it was just a mad thing to do.
If I had hit it, got knows where it would have ended up and I would probably have been charged with something as plod would have been unlikely to have believed my version of events.

I now have a journey recorder.

If it was someone elses fault then you should be allowed to claim. However, there should be some ruling that means you have to pay for any legal action etc up front then claim it back none of these no win no fee companies. If people had to pay up front for legal action then it should in theory stop the false claims.

There getting sneakier. Flash for cash was highlighted in the media a couple of weeks ago but that was pulling out of sideroads.

What both have in common is that the increasingly common dashboard cameras are useless for these as they are side-impacts.

The best I can suggest is that if you think someones doing it to you, keep coming across and give them something to really go to the hospital with…

I’ve downloaded the ‘daily road voyager’ app on my android phone and it works a treat recording speed and location. These idiots can crash into me all they want, I’ll just pass it onto the police to take further.

If front, side and rear cameras were made compulsory then driving standards would miraculously improve overnight.

did the five with the whiplash have nice deep tans perchance

Then the problem is your insurance company will say - “Whiplash? How many of you were in the car? 15? That’s fine! How much compo would you like?” You should be able to tell your insurance company not to pay out if it is so obviously a fraudulent claim.
