Apparently the driver of the Roadworks truck (cone laying) jumped out of the window just before the scrap bulker fell on it - and he was unhurt

No, I really meant it, I’ve never seen a Tipper on its side before, it was such a surprise to see this one on its side, especially as all the London Tipper Drivers are so careful, considerate & well mannered. [emoji57]

kin hell glad i left WILKO all i get now is the odd tractor no more a13
I was just behind that one today amazingly the driver is reported to have non life threatening injuries. The steering column was in the seat and he had hit the back of a tipper so hard it had moved the whole rear bogie off its mounts.
what is going on these days if things get worse i could see legilastion for tests every 5 years let alone medicals and cpc
And that’s one of the prime reason’s, the general public hate lorries and their driver’s.

Too many drivers more worried about maintaining cruise control and checking their mpg figures actuallythan looking out of the windscreen.
That performance thing new Dafs have is a distraction. I know you can turn it off but how many firms are so ■■■■ about it that drivers will be watching that instead.

100 %agree got them at my new place. Use cruise asap. As much as poss dont set off alarm on monitor when gear changing avoid potholes as that triggers alarm. Kin hell im on rural work all day apart getting there in morning ITS A MAJOR DISTRACTION linked to performance bonuses etc
It,s no wonder youngsters don,t want to step in to this trade when they see stuff like this on the net, if this net stuff was around when i was young, i would think stuff that for a job.
Topmixer…who fitted that gadget? Looks like the same bloke who fitted our cab phones in our old Scanias…instead of cutting the cables down and hiding 'em behind the dash, we were left with a big heap of wires in the passenger footwell!

If that was fitted in an office they’d have the contractor back to do a proper job. As it’s a lorry, stuff 'em. I’ve driven tippers with the reversing camera monitor right in the middle of the dashboard so the flat part is useless for storing clipboards, atlases etc. Also a pain when you want to put your feet up which is more important to me.
Even a notorious tipper firm from Wiltshire is going ■■■■ about harsh braking, fuel figures etc yet still give their drivers ■■■■ loads to do.

STEVIE WONDER
I wonder how many 0.001% improvements in MPG will be need to pay for just the increased insurance premium following these sorts of catastrophe.
