No problem, if you want a Zimmer Frame I’ll book you one, but there’s a 20 year waiting list, as far as starting my bikes up here, no chance, if I do that I’ll have to be at the Londonderry Truck Stop, my mate live next door and we fire up his V8 drag bike up there with open pipes, but it’s not too bad, because in the daytime the fighter jets are taking off and landing on RAF Leeming just behind his house and it’s not too bad. :smiling_imp: :-Jack :sunglasses:
Ps, Happy birthday, :sunglasses: :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi everybody. Iv’e been off for a while so i hope you are all ok and in good health as i am. A belated happy birthday to Keith and hope you have many more. I will try and get some more picture’s onto the site this week so watch this space. I am realy looking forward to the reunion on the 13th and i have to say to the organisors (They know who they are) , you have done a fantastic job and give yourselve’s a big pat on the back. that’s it for now folk’s so take of yourselve’s and i will see you at the bash. Regards. (alan)

Hi Alan,Glad you are in good health. It has been a bit depressing, whilst sorting this reunion sometimes, when you hear about so many of your friends that have gone to " drive on that motorway in the sky". Everyday I get phone calls “do you remember so-and-so” only today I heard about Trevor Nussy. I bet you remember him? He had a heart attack 3 years ago and is not at all good.
Still and all, everything is now organised, and I am sure it will be a TERRIFIC turnout. Maybe with one or two surprises.
Here’s a couple of photo’s to get your grey cells working!!

Hi Alan, Stuart sugden has been doing most of the legwork, and I know he’s busy doing something for the event at home like having names printed so we can remember every ones names, because you have to be honest when the brain cells start shrinking, it’s usualy the memory cells that go first, but one of the main problems have been trying to get every ones contact numbers and names, we can only hope we’ve not left anyone out, but having said that there are still a couple of names that have been contacted and have not replied, I just hope they come and join in the fun, you’d be surprised how many people who are not A One drivers, who have been interested in our site, it just shows that we have something that there interested in which makes it great.
But on another note, being older drivers from an older company like “A One” we were in it when driver’s worked together, and helping was not a problem it was what you did, it was part of the job, we weren’t controlled by computers, we had to use our own brains even if the management didn’t agree with what we did, but it got the job done and it kept the driver’s together.
I’m getting off my soap box now, see you at the Bold Privateer.:-Jack  :smiling_imp:

Hi All,that is a good idea about some name tags as it is a lot of years since ,we all get older and gray, bald, and fat in my case, and would be embarrassed if someone knows you and you dont recognise them .tag and pay    well thought of stuart

The name tag’s were all Stuart’s idea, so when you arrive just look for your name and then we can play tag a driver, and for every driver you tag you can buy him a pint, but dont tell Les Mullins until he has his wallet out, “that’s if he brings it”. :smiling_imp:  :- Jack

Hi All. While these name tags sound like a good idea i am sure that we haven’t forgoten what each other look like, after all the years we all worked together. This may come as a surprise to you all but i still look like and think like a 20 year old going on 70. However i will be quite happy to wear a name tag if you wish. Regards. (Alan) :grimacing:

Come on Alan Bennett, dont tell me you still look like a 20yr old, your like the rest of us, may-be 20 in the head, but look into the mirror, A bit closer!, no closer!, and what do you see, yes it’s you but 50 years older, you’ll be telling us next that you’ve got some age stopping formula, that you rub on your cheeks every morning, and regards the tags, just dont forget your wallet, the first rounds on you.  :smiling_imp: :sunglasses: :-Jack

I’ve just got a contact for Billy Parkinson, but having no luck on the phone, "they dont answer"and the answer phone is full, so if anyone is in the area, could they please call into the Brighton Pub, Brighton St, Heckmondwyke, the phone number is 01924 402980, up to now I’ve had no luck but if there’s anyone in the area I’ve been told he’s a regular there, it would be a shame if he’s not there. Regards :-Jack

Not a bad idea, I’ll have my bucket there collecting for “Graham’s Racing fund”, if I can get enough I’m off to Bonneville, Salt Flats, Utah, USA to set another world land speed record, so dig deeply lads and support my worthy cause, should be going August or September 2011 if you put enough in the bucket.
“Remember charity starts at home”. :sunglasses:  :-Jack

Well after lots and lots of searching and phone calls we’ve contacted Billy Parky, So watch out lads, he’s promised to be there, he called me this morning said that Stuart had eventually found him, just remember if he starts speaking “German”, tell him it’s not the Army it’s the A One reunion, Cheers Stuart you did a fine job, we’ll have to see you get some expenses to cover your fuel and phone’s, just book it to A One!. :smiling_imp: :-Jack

Jack Graham. I noticed on one of the photo’s of the two girls in loret de mare that you are on the bottom right hand corner of one them, with a pint glass in your hand. :grimacing: So nothing new there then, as you used to say Grahams the name and beers the game. I am glad that you have found Billy Parkinson and i agree with you about some form of help with your expenses.(I know you where joking) but you have all done a great job of pulling this reunion off and getting it up and running. So i would like to be the first to say a big THANK YOU to all the organisors. that’s it for now Jack see you there. Regards (Alan) :grimacing:

Nothing to thank for Alan, if it hadn’t been for Stuart Sugden, and some help from Stuart Broughton getting the venue I couldn’t have done it alone, because I was moving home at the same time, and to be honest Mr Sugden did most of the work, it was an idea we came up with after reading this thread on the Internet, and luckily it has all worked out better than we expected, and hopefully after the first one next weekend we can make a better one with a proper sit down meal for everyone including wives or girlfriends, so if we do it will have to be a much bigger place,“Dave Smith recommended we go to Zagreb” :sunglasses:
but there’s no reason for us all to loose touch with one another now we have phone numbers etc, regarding the expenses Stuart Sugden must have spent Lot’s more than me, because he did a lot of running around in his car trying to find Billy Parky, it must have cost me at least £1 in phone calls.
But joking aside, it has all been worth it, we were all mates for many years doing the same job, and helping one another out when needed, but as I said before the first rounds on you, so dont forget your wallet, and leave the walking frame in the allocated spot in the car park, and the ■■■■■■ over the Bar  :smiling_imp: :-Jack
