OK Lads. Here we go. This is the situation. 
We can use THE LIGHTCLIFFE CLUB on any MONDAY or WEDNESDAY evening. He (Phil) has 2/3 guest beers and all the usual beers/lagers. He is willing to put on chip/sausage butties at £2 a head 
There is a seperate room which we can use, depending on numbers. 
The best dates me and Jacky can come up with is–either Mon 8th Nov or Wed 10th Nov. 
What we want to know is, HOW MANY Soooo if you could let us know via the web, I can let the steward know.

After watching lastnights Stobarts programme I have come to the conclusion that Mr Stobart / Eddie Stobarts are very charitable employers as most of the staff featured on the programme seem to have some kind of mental health defect. And as for the so called spotters words fail me. Beam me up Scotty.I must be honest, I dont watch TV crap, I saw Ice Truckers a few times when I was in the US, and cant see much different to what we did over 20 years ago, except we didn’t do it on frozen lakes, if you take away the film makers and editors and just had drivers doing what drivers do, it wouldn’t be so sensational and interesting to the public, as we know what you see in the papers and TV, “is not reality”, it’s made to attract the audience, it’s like the film Convoy, it was good for a laugh but not exactly reality, I’ve spent a long time in the US over the last 15 to 20 years, and also been with a couple of guys in there trucks, and it’s nothing like you see on TV programs, in reality it’s just like it was for us in the late 70s and 80s, but with better trucks, with sleepers like a bed-sit
behind you instead of a bunk to get your head down for the night, they have the real thing, the bottom bed is almost like a double bed, and the top one is like a full size single bed with lockers TV table fridge etc, what we drive are used for local runs, just in case you dont get back the same day, the Volvo’s in the US are the creme-De-la-creme of trucks, built like luxury hotels to what we have in Europe, but I must be honest they would be not much good on our roads, because the tractor units a much longer than ours, and the normal trailers are 53ft instead of out 43ft with the rear axles further back than ours, but then there roads are built for them and they have more room to maneuver than we do, time for me to get off my soap box now, catch you all next week and have a count up of names and get the numbers and room booked,

So. We now have a date of NOVEMBER 10TH 2010 It is a Wednesday, (unfortunately) For our REUNION. The club functions are getting very busy now, so we shall be in the club lounge area. Thanks for the offer of a bed, but as the club is within walking distance of my house, I shall decline!!
If you could send me a list of the names of Drivers/ Mechanics/Staff etc. I will get in touch with as many other people as possible over here.
I will leave it up to you to sort out your transport.

Your ears must have been on fire! As me and stuart Broughton were just talking about you! You need to scroll back to pages 19/20/21 to find out about our REUNION. But things may change once I can talk to Jacky Graham tonight. It seems that not all of us are RETIRED!!!

Hi Stuart, Your right it would be better one weekend, I’ve sent Stuart an email and I think it may be better since many of the guys are still working for a living, but they get weekends off now,“unlike we did in the past”.
So when Stuart Sugden gets back to me, we’ll make the change and get more of the lads together instead of missing an opportunity like this, to get us all back together even if it’s only for an evening, and then we can make arrangements to have a real party at a latter date where we can sit down for a meal and do the job right.
