Take a close look at the program and you will see one particular driver drinking while driving, yes we have all probably
done the same but not in front of many viewers.and more than likely the majority of Stobart drivers are cringing of
this portrayal by some of the drivers, but its the sign of times that are more concerned with [image than intelligence, common sense
and the ability to think for ones self,]one wonders how they would have been able to cope with accent and decent of CERDON and
the highway from Sallanches over the steel works to entrance of Mont Blanc in the winter times, and so many other places,
not that I would want those times back but they were certainly challenging times and required raw driving skills.hows that Stuart
Jack, Keith, Dennis, and all the rest, now to jump of my soap box.

Will be back in time for the reunion I hope, Stuart was thinking of Lightcliffe Conservative club you will find the
directions on Multimap or Google map, Dennis do you think we can charter a plane to fetch MR C Marshall from Portugal.

Hullo Old Holborn,
Saw your post on here, whereabouts does Chris Marshall hang out in Portugal ? I am out in Portugal at the moment, but only for a few more days as I am clearing my house and fetching my stuff back home to Pickering. It would be good to see him again, it must be over 20 years since I last saw him, although I suppose he will be down on the Algarve doing the golfing thing. ( and he does’nt owe me £6o)
Cheers, Archie.

Hi All. I have not been on for a while computers has been out of action (No Signal) and it’s the same with the mobile phones. Anyway here i am now trying to catch up on all the messages. I was a bit sad to learn about Jack Myers (TapperJack) and Ken Mallinson, when did they pass away. i am looking forward to the reunion it should be a good night. so dont forget to put my name down for it, at the moment i am in my caravan in licolnshire and i have a signal. When i get home next weekend i may not be able to contact anybody. All for now take care of yourselves. Regards (Alan)
Sorry Alan, I thought that I had read it somewhere on here about Tapper Jack but looking back through the pages it was Jackie Broadbent who passed away. Hopefully Ken ( Desert Rat ) Mallinson is still with us, didn’t he always wear his old beret . I am sorry if I caused anybody any upset so please acccept my sincere apologies.

You keep on your soap box Les, nothing hurts more than the truth, and every word you said was the truth, there not drivers now, there just robots doing what there programed to do, Jack .
After watching lastnights Stobarts programme I have come to the conclusion that Mr Stobart / Eddie Stobarts are very charitable employers as most of the staff featured on the programme seem to have some kind of mental health defect. And as for the so called spotters words fail me. Beam me up Scotty.
Sorry if I’ve been off the net for a while, but I’m working on my new home in Bedale, should be moved in next week and will be ready for when Stuart comes back from his hols to get the room booked and a date for the first two weeks in November, I’m glad there’s been some response and will be getting an idea of how many will be there, “to Stuart Broughton”, a minibus is a good idea, but I dont think it will be a good idea for them to be going all the way to Bedale to pick me up, it takes me just over an hour in my van to get there, but I’ll be coming down with Richard on of our ex subbies and will have to book in somewhere for the night, B & B or hotel, but dont forget to remind everyone else who might have been missed out, and lets have the names, and for the ones who still have to work for a living, just keep looking for the date and book your weekend off for a ■■■■-up,“except Alec Kinnon he has one every weekend without our help”, and this includes anyone who defected to Stobarts “only joking lads”.

I must be honest, I dont watch TV crap, I saw Ice Truckers a few times when I was in the US, and cant see much different to what we did over 20 years ago, except we didn’t do it on frozen lakes, if you take away the film makers and editors and just had drivers doing what drivers do, it wouldn’t be so sensational and interesting to the public, as we know what you see in the papers and TV, “is not reality”, it’s made to attract the audience, it’s like the film Convoy, it was good for a laugh but not exactly reality, I’ve spent a long time in the US over the last 15 to 20 years, and also been with a couple of guys in there trucks, and it’s nothing like you see on TV programs, in reality it’s just like it was for us in the late 70s and 80s, but with better trucks, with sleepers like a bed-sit behind you instead of a bunk to get your head down for the night, they have the real thing, the bottom bed is almost like a double bed, and the top one is like a full size single bed with lockers TV table fridge etc, what we drive are used for local runs, just in case you dont get back the same day, the Volvo’s in the US are the creme-De-la-creme of trucks, built like luxury hotels to what we have in Europe, but I must be honest they would be not much good on our roads, because the tractor units a much longer than ours, and the normal trailers are 53ft instead of out 43ft with the rear axles further back than ours, but then there roads are built for them and they have more room to maneuver than we do, time for me to get off my soap box now, catch you all next week and have a count up of names and get the numbers and room booked,
Hi Jack. I am back from MONTENEGRO. Fantastic weather/ food and a hell of a lot of booze.
