Hi Keith. I remember that sick club we ran at a one it was ok. I also think Dave Hooley was involved in the running of it, and if i am correct it was Russell Hutchinson who suggested it to the drivers who ran it. See you soon Keith. (Alan)

Hi Les. Nice to see you on here,i have some photo’s with you on them and i will get them on here at some point. You should tell them about that dog you used to have. It used to lay across the windscreen on the AEC. I still say it put it’s paws over it’s eye’s when you kicked the AEC out of gear dropping down off saddleworth moor going towards manchester, glasgow bound with 20 tons of steel on the back. That wagon must have been doing 100 mph it was still coasting when we got to Birch services. Those where the day’s Les. Hope you go to this reunion it will be nice to see you again. Regards. (Alan).

Hi Les, welcome to the Trucknet site I am sure that you find lots of things on here that you haven’t thought about for over twenty five years or more. Now can you sort out something for me that I am not sure about . Are you the Les with the beard and glasses in Stuarts photo on page 17 ? I can’t remember if you told me that you lived near Huddersfield in the eighties, was it Outlane or was it near Ordsall Top. It could of been something to do with the Frizzante that affected my hearing that night in Carissio when you were with Donald. Another couple of places to jog some of you lads memories were The Zagreb Hotel and that chemical place in Yugoslavia called Jestabarsko with the I.C.I. stuff which I think you might of loaded from I.C.I. Heywood. The swimming pool near Santhia that I know a couple of you used when you were weekending in the summer and The Algerians restaurant on the N6 between Point Dain and Auxerre , do you remember the Cous Cous on a Tuesday night, I bet Donald would .

No Stuart but I know a man who did
And to me he was one of the best .
the guy is bill Murray…i think he went to redheads in Bradford after a one
What happened to Tony Wood and Sing they helped me put a new crank shaft in old F10 in the corner of the
yard at A One Transport it was at a bank holiday whit suntide? not sure but any way I was wondering if anyone
has made them aware of the web site, in particular the reunion
Here is a couple of true stories about Jack Robbie for Lookingin. The small trailor park at the top of Mill lane by the Wakefield Rd roundabout suddenly became a Gypsy caravan site. On hearing the news Jack Robbie went to the site and had a word with the Gypoes within a couple of hours they had moved on. On being repeatedly asked how he had got them to pack up and moved on so quickly he laughed and said I only told them the truth/ If they didnt pack up and leave he would fill the site with so many trailors that they would be stuck there for years. There was a fly by night Demolition Contractor from Thorpe Edge Estate who was running an old tipper he got from Brian Gill the tipper was a load of crap, He put it into the Bradford garage for a service and 12 months plate the bill was enormous and he refused to pay, On hearing this Jack Robbie went to the Bradford Garage Manager and told him to get one of the men to cut the tipper into half, I cannt do that he replied. Just do as I tell you to do said Jack Robbie. I dont want ANYONE to think I am getting soft in my old age. [What a Man ]

hi jack, can we a address or name of the club we are going to please, thanks keith
Cant remember the name of the place, but it’s close to where Stuart Sugden lives, he’s the president or something like that, we went to look when I met him but the stuard was out and it was closed, but when he comes home from his holidays about the 3rd October we will have a count up of names and get it booked. :-Jack

Have a good time Stateside old pal, just make sure your back for the first two weeks in November, that’s when were booking the reunion. :-Jack
Can I please ask a question without being rude or personal, I know I haven’t yet mastered the art of putting pictures on this site, and I know I am not a master of the PC machine, in fact I’m a bit hopeless with the damned thing, but one of the first things I learned to use was the “spell check”, If you’ve not yet found it can you ask the wife or girlfriend to show you where it is, it makes life a lot easier when trying to read the comments and stories. Regards :-Jack

Hullo Jack,
I’m an ex subbie of Aone, I was just reading your last posting regarding spell checks. A good point I may say. At this Club where Stuart Sugden spends his time, did you speak to the Steward or the STUARD . Just taking the ■■■■ mate really.
Cheers, Archie.
