jj72 :- I did the cabs quite a few times, but cant remember ever taking photo’s, all I do know is the first ones came from J C Ashworth’s who made the original trailers themselves, and the last ones were made at Crossflatts by Wilson’s, they had to make a copy of the old ones because they were so complicated, and when the first one came it wasn’t any good, because they’d measured it wrong and the cabs didn’t fit, and the curtains were crap, the original ones didn’t have curtains on, I think you’d have to ask Peter Scolic, or some-one else because they did it for a long time and might just have a couple.

I remember Panalpina we used to load off them sometimes and visa versa, it’s nice to know that someone else knows what happened to some of the drivers we haven’t seen for many years, it’s not that we dont remember them, it’s just that we never hear or see them any more,so thanks for letting us know.
Unfortunately sometimes now were getting older, it’s hard sometimes asking where someone is when you might just be asking the wrong question, I have done this a couple of times, when they have passed away a few months a or a couple of years ago, and it can be a delicate question, if your speaking to a family member.
I know when I knew I was getting old, when my my son said four years ago that he was 40 in a few days time, and I was 66 at the time, so if you see any of them please give my regards to them and let them know we are trying to get a reunion together, and get them on the computer to keep in touch.

Surprised no-one has yet mentioned Ben Shaw.
I remember him once turning up at the union Xmas do wearing a dark red suit, which we all claimed he had made from an A ONE wagon sheet.

Hi Dennis, there’s also many drivers I haven’t seen since In went in hospital in 1995/6 but it would be a good idea to have a get together and chew some fat and say hello once again, because there were a lot of good lads there until McGee took hold of the place, he absolutely ruined the place.
One of the problems now is that the only time I see anyone, is when we go another funeral, and then it’s too late, so let’s just hope we can get something together, I am going to see Stuart Sugden in a couple of weeks time to try to arrange a meeting in a club, so we’ll see what the outcome will be, I’ll just have to make sure I’m not in the US this time, that’s how I missed the last two reunions. I think we can clearly assume that Dennis Glover is not friends with Chris Marshal.
He must have rubbed shoulders with Niel McGee when he was in the office, and it turned his brain.

hi ,Ben used to come into xroads at normanton,he worked for roadways,he sadly died about 2 year a go

The photo’s are fine, I can see Cuddles, Chris Marchall, Jack Tether, yourself, I cant recognise the guy with the beard sat next to “Sandra Frank’s wife”, I can remember his face but not his name, and not forgetting the ladies of course.
My opp is nothing serious, it’s for the carpel tunnel on both my hands, I go in the morning and will be out in the evening, but there doing both hands at the same time, so I will by out of action for a couple of weeks, ,it means I will be out of racing until October, but I do need the rest so it’s not too bad, I’m still acting like a teenager at 70, and it’s hard work sending a bike down the track at over 150mph when your an old git, “and knackered”. :-Jack
