Just to let everyone know that the A1 North bound was closed last night for road works, closed off near Stamford Lincolshire and the diversion is through Melton Mowbray , it’s a bloody long way around 
Not too sure how long for !!!
A1 north is also closed around newark (again) for the next few nights diversion via ollerton and 614 back to a1
The A1 in Lincolnshire must be the most re surfaced road in the country.

i’m not back at work until monday (the 13th),will the roadworks on this section be completed by then? 
I went that way Monday and it took over an hour to get through diversion route, which also has 3 sets of roadworks on it with traffic lights holding you on red lights on deserted roads. Steer well clear if you can.
And i think the A15 Bourne to Morton has a road closer at night on it as well fir a few weeks

is the diversion taking you back to the A1 via A607 to Grantham?
If so don’t bother - pick up the A606 at Melton then head to the A46 go north then pick up the A1 again at Newark - you only lose about 15 to 20min using that route.
Maybe they should consider moving a few miles south and tackle the n/b side at Wansford just before the 47. It’s like the bloody Somme there and spills my coffee every time.

Plans are the A47 at Wansford is going to renovated

I’ve never seen that part reserviced , just the same as that stretch of motorway on the M1 southbound 5 miles before rugby turn off

The A47 towards Peterborough just before the dual carriageway is crap too.
What time does the A1 re open. I want to be on it at that spot at 5:30 tomorrow morning ffs?

You’d have been better of bezzing through the weight restriction in Empingham back onto the A1, or use the b668 (I think) through Cottesmore and Greetham.
