A1 crash. Who's truck?

Dont this artic driver know that lane 3 is a no go area? Thank god for the DCPC, hopefully there will be a module on lane disciplin…

Sat in a jam on the A1 at Stamford yesterday eve. Foreign reg artic had smashed the cab fairly badly and several other vehicles involved, all looking the worse for wear.

Plod and Wombles were having a great time - lights flashing and hi viz on. Sat there for around 3 hours without moving.

If they were medics and not sweepers up, they’d have about 10 deaths a week on their hands from too much indecision…

If there are no injurys and it’s possible get the road cleared quick so you can get by.
Because as soon as plod turn up they will ■■■■ your day up completely :unamused:
Also if you stop at an accident to help getthe other side of it first or you will be stuck there

i wounder how that ended up on it’s side on a straight road?

Im more shocked at the fact at least from what I can see, 7 lorries managed to not hit each other :open_mouth:

A lorry was towing a generator which is believed to have come loose from the towing vehicle on Friday, December 16.

A heavy goods vehicle swerved and crashed through the central reservation, a Jaguar car collided with the lorry and a Ford Focus was also hit
Thats what was in the Yorkshire Evening post

It appears that swerving an artic can easily tip it over. Rapid steering movements put you in more danger than is required of you to take.
It may be better advice to steer a straight heading and hit whatever is in front of you. YOU and your future life may well be better for doing that.

I very much doubt your " Wombles" bit , it would have been Mac Contractors attending to check/repair road network hardware/barriers etc and assist debris clearance.

I can concur “Wombles” do Not patrol or respond on or to that location area of A1 currently.
Please try and get it right on whos who and whos where

Takes something like 15 tons of force to topple one over, but only 10lbs of force on the steering wheel to achieve this.

i wonder how that ended up on it’s side on a straight road?

Wondered the same also how did the deflector end up where it is, only reason is that he has violently swerved either to miss something or someone or he has had a heart attack or such like.

Ive also just noticed a black car right behind the 3rd axle on the unit.

So that’s why it was closed for so long. Obviously the coppers turned up, chalked around it and left orders to leave it alone for 9 hours

sits in corner awaiting abuse

coppers hant got a clue bunch of fat piggys

Traffic womble told one of our drivers there was a fatality involved

i just want to let you all know that the accident on the A1 at Bramham Fri 16th was due to a compressor coming off the back of a van and ending up between lanes 2&3. the drivers of the lorries took evasive action one taking to the left and the one which turned over,to the outside lane, clipping the barrier and overturned. the driver was NOT asleep as some have suggested and he was carrying 250,000 sheets of cardboard. The car that hit the overturned wagon passed standing traffic at speed in the outside lane. Please get some facts before pointing the finger…one of the car drivers is in a serious condition

Thanks for that Cattman.
Would you know why the road was shut for so long?

Cheers,
Cieran
