A1 closed after explosion

I went through Catterick Village about 03:00ish and didn’t hear a thing, came back up the A1 past Marne barracks about 05:00, traffic was flowing as normal and no sign of anything going on?

So a major route like this can be closed all day just because eight people reported hearing an explosion?

How much has all this cost the taxpayer and the UK economy?

There’s more to this story than what we’re being told…

An explosion close to an army barracks that was possibly a device lerft by a suspicious looking car in the wee small hours, I’d say was worth the delays.
I went past at about 7.00 and ended up diverting through Bedale, Catterick Garrison and Richmond and wasn’t that fussed. It could have been a serious terrorist attack for all we knew at the time and deserved to be investigated.

it needs to be investigated how the above poster managed to drive through Catterick Garrison

All main roads through Catterick Garrison are open to the public, same as Aldershot. All the Barracks etc are within fenced off compounds.

all the main roads do not run through the garrison, as you stated the garrison is fenced and no one just drives through, unless you know differently

Trucken is right. The roads are open and each barracks is fenced off.
