STRIKE CALLED FOR ON 12TH SEPTEMBER

IN ITALY the 700.000 members of the transport branch have been called upon to particapate in a ““24HR”” STRIKE ,which has come about due to the tardiness of the italian goverment in their not implementing the new
EU -workers time directive WTD, Therefore for all those who are due to leave for ITALY or are all ready there,be prepared for this action,
IF they do strike it is avisable not to antaganise the strikers by driveing if they ask you not to as they will react in a way which may bring damage /injury ,

THIS is only at present a call for a strike. but as those who travel abroad know, this type of action is ussaully carried out to its bitter end,

Just returned from a fortnights holiday in Umbria,didn’t see any industrial action,but,coming home on Saturday there was a lot of truckers running a slow demo on the Autostrada between Firenze Nord and Barberino,also in the opposite direction.
Protesting about the price of fuel.

The buggers held me up for over an hour and a half :frowning:
