Now that shot just puts the UK transport industry into perspective, 600 BHP engine and running at probably twice the GVW of the UK weights yet many of the motors here in the UK are approaching the same kind of output ! Why ? Cheers Bewick.

Probably for the same reason you wouldn’t ideally have wanted to use a 180 Gardner in a 38 tonner and not many hills on its route and they couldn’t fit an engine big enough to provide an ideal durable 10 hp / 30 lb/ft + per tonne under the bonnet anyway.

Also think that triple weighs a bit more than 88 t gross.
