I had to do that many a time when i was delivering for halfords.

Wow there’s a blast from the past… I remember going to George Sims yard… somewhere in South Manchester, or was it Stockport? about 15 years ago or more. At the time I was looking for something a bit more interesting / different to what I’d been doing on the agencies. Unfortunately he had just taken somebody on, so couldn’t use me but I do remember anyhow taking one of his trailers somewhere to swap with another one. George’s son was doing the same run with me in another wagon. He was about the same age as me and a very nice chap, excellent company. I remember distinctly having the feeling that I was unfortunately in the right place but at the wrong time. If they had had a job for me then, I’m sure I would have had a really great time there.

It’s very nice to see that they are still in business

Spacemonkeypg:

did you put that logo on yerself there?

now please dont’ qoute me on the history but i believe it is now the son running the company and a very nice man he is too.

no you cannot buy lines that long they are order only i can make you set up if you like lol?

You’re not based in that yard in Stockport are you? The one where the wall has been hit about a million times on the way in? I once drove an Axor from that yard with groupage pallets on a few years ago, I just recognise the SIMS name.
