A shocked cyclist

Carryfast:
If the bus had hit a pedestrian there I’d bet that the difference between amber and green would have been the difference between a causing death by careless/dangerous driving charge or not regardless of the person in question stepping out on amber and not bothering to look in just the same way as if it had been red.

You are probably right, and I don’t have a problem with the bus being in the wrong, it’s just I want to blame the other too as well.

FarnboroughBoy11:
You’re twisting it.
Not many, if not any truck driver confronts other road users after they have had a disagreement or altercation, where as the majority of cyclists with a head cam confront and goad other road users to try and get something incriminating on their head cam.
[zb].

You never seen that 4 page thread only last month of the truck driver launching a volley of punches into that VW Golf driver?

Yes, but again in the description the witness said the truck driver wanted to let it go until the point came where you can only get offered out so many times and not react.
The point I’m trying to make is that cyclists with head cams usually don’t let things go, instead of being content that they have caught someone on camera being a knob for whatever reason, they then goad and taunt the perpetrator to try and escalate the situation.

Aye, nothing like the righteous getting the wronged to dig a bigger hole :imp:

chester:
Why do helmet cams bother folks on here so much?

because I don`t want to appear on youtube .

Blimey, I always thought you could go through on Amber. Amber has always in my mind been prepare to stop, but lets face it if you’ve got 30 tonnes on, we’ve all gone through on Amber, you can get prosecuted by going through on Amber then?

Granted the bus driver was in the wrong. I suppose some of them get so used to going past school kids, when that happens in the truck i’m almost on the other side of the road & limping it, thinking of the headline, “Thundering Juggernaut with menace to society behind the wheel hits child” (even though said child decided to jump in to the road without looking for a laugh), Jeez you’d never live that down.

Amber officially means from the Highway Code,

‘Stop at the stop line. You may go on only if the amber appears after you have crossed the Stop Line or are so close to it that to pull up may cause an accident’.

That’s correct, but I think most drivers today think it means " it’s going to red, floor it".

Bet he had his lycra shorts on, that should be an offence, hanging around outside a school in them things.
