Hi John.Terry Sparrow reckons that Little Les is or was working for Fraser Freight.Regards Charlie

Hi charlie i do hope you got some water wings on that old go cart of yours else you gonna be in big trouble, you take the high road mate.

Evening buzzer dad has retired and moved to italy. He bought a place in ostuni in the puglia region bout 7years ago. Now just potters about in garden and enjoying the odd glass of vino. They both love it out there and look younger than when they left. He s only been back once since he left think he gone native…

Thanks for the info about your dad Curly, its quite amazing the amount of ex international drivers who now reside on the other side of the channel like ur dad, Longo and Ginger in and Fergie in France and Scattercash and Gazzer in Spain but then they dont really count as are only part timers, cheers Buzzzer.

Curly I remember your dad well I took him on his first trip to Valencia he followed so close you would have thought we were joined at the hip.
He was the one when fueled by Veccia climbed the flag pole in the restaurant the other side of the autostrada to Carisio and it broke and he fell about 15 meters. He was a hooligan.Give him my best regards when you see him.
Ian

Ah! Vecchia Romagna “fuelled” many a manic episode! Ettichetta Negra being the best!

Hello Gaz, What was Vecchia Romagna ■■ I thought it was a bottle of pop.
Richard

Hi Ian please dont take umbridge for tiz the season of goodwill to all men,i thought that was fair comment as you and Gazzer do spend a proportion of the year in Spain, any way Ian i thought you were a man with a sense of humour and could take a bit of flack and i have a christmas present for you in the shape of a ■■■■■ with a hole in it,i thought it would give you a plausable excuse when it was your round in the pub, i will be forwarding this to you forthwith, cheers Buzzer. PS. Have a joyeus xmas where ever you are.

Hi curly1968 next time you speak to dad ask him if he remembers the night me and him borrowed the bicycle in Bordeaux to get back to the trucks that were parked on the quay.Happy days. Happy Christmas to you and mum&dad.

To drag ASR back from page 2:

IHT stops for no one, forget the festive season, “Get her done and we’ll pile on the bonus for working on Christmas Sunday”, I’m sure I didn’t mis hear Ian say that? I’ve self interest in fixing this 'cos it’s my transport back at the end of January!

Whilst I top up my tan in the 24 deg warmth (not had the log burner on for a week now) I raise a glass of chilled Rose to you and wish all our readers well for the festive season and have a great and safe 2013.

gazzer whats broke on that wonderfull piece of equipment now

and festive greetings to you all or ba humbug as ian would say

It suffered an uncontrolled take off down the motorway one day, Ian had to turn the key off before engine destruction!

It restarted OK but under load gave knocking and black smoke. He got it home and abandoned it.

I drove it home without any issues. However on test it blew a heater hose but engine not hot. All minor hoses bloated/weak and lined with engine oil inside (contamination over time). Stripped them all out to be replaced (not a pleasant job!).

Oil in engine from: Previous oil cooler failure and system not fushed…oil cooler failure… head gasket between oil way and water system…oil/water seal on water cooled turbo?

New hoses, a double flush of system and see what if anything re-appears.

Road test it and see if the uncontrolled engine fault re-appears!

I did speak to Fraser about what he had done, Injectors and clean EGR. EGR is a big issue on these motors according to Hyundri Forum causing the above. As it is a Vac operated one it can be blocked off without detriment and can increase performance. I need to look again at it because the intake manifold is caked with sticky black goo…partially burnt oil, not enough to restrict breathing though.

Then drive it back to the UK.

Any thoughts “O wonderous one”?

Come on Les give it your best shot need to get it back to UK and I will trade it in for a Toyota promise :unamused: :unamused:

Ime sorry Ian said present was being imported from Italy, the home of fine leather but unfortunately it was conviscated by customs in Dover because with the hole in it was deemed faulty goods but also it was stamped with the name guuchi and they thought it was a fake, sorry Ian but we will have to think of something else.PS you will have to think of another use for the padlock Charlie has for you that was going to secure said ■■■■■,Happy yuletide cheers Buzzer.

evening chaps
hope you had a good time with family and freinds
gazzer is the engine breather ok did it run on its own oil
then not helped by oil/carbon in the manifold
i think you will get it back to the uk but dont let ian
drive because he always has to rush things

I’ve got a part of the breather system off (not just a straight pipe) and will look at the rest of it.

All went well over the Christmas period, food was good (despite Shirley having a banging hangover!!) The middle section is about to commence (New Year) and then the final bout on the 6th of Jan. So plenty to be getting on with…2 bottles of Port to taste, Blue Stilton to sample and some elegant “looking” red wines.

Cheers all, Happy new Year to you all.
