Info received via Mick Hellawell:

The passing of Dave O’Shea (Dos), long time subbie for Rawlings. Dave drove PAA710P after I had finished with it which originally was Polly’s.

He had been unwell not long after returning from Canada.

A man dedicated to the job. R.I.P.

Very sorry to hear the sad news re Dave O’shea, shared some very pleasant meals with him way back when.

RIP Dos

Hi Gazzer, hope yer good, bloody shame about DOS, had a lot of fun with him. Did you know at the time that in Vicenza by the doggana, german drivers had load of cars in their trailers, seems that keys were left in the cars and a lot of blue spot radios disappeared. DOS was good at playing with cars lol lol lol also DOS had 3 or 4 week holiday in Spain. The Truck was found and DOS was in the jail. He had wacked a policia copper lol lol

DOS’s funeral is at the Portchester Crematorium, Portchester next Tuesday 24th August at 12:00

A very sad day.I have just been to Dave Oshea’s funeral. Many old faces there, all who will remember Dave as a very good friend someone who would allways help if you were in trouble.Unbeknown to me he had been ill for some time he had some kind of dementia.
Im sure all his old friends and collegues will join me in sending Peg and all his family our sincere regards. RIP Dave

Having met a as I said above a few old faces at Daves funeral the majority of those there are going to try and do there best to spend some money in Tim Sheppards pub on Sunday and even Mr J Rawlings has threatened to make a guest appearance. All of you people out there whoever you used to work for please join us on Sunday for a tinge of nostalgia.I think the majority wont be there until early evening if you have any queries you can phone Gazzer on 07710 609713

Hello traniht, Gazzer etc, I should be in the Wheatsheaf on Sunday at some time afternoon ?, as my wife (no6) will be driving me from Droitwich to here so I have to be very very good lol lol. Maybe see you all soon ,
richardg

Look forward to seeing you Rich. I intend to be there about two…Ian at some time in the afternoon.

What a great night at Shedfield, it was so nice to see so many old mates. We’re all looking a bit older but noone has changed in character, within minutes of arriving it felt like a Sunday night in the pub waiting to ship out as in the old days. Many anecdotes were related from a wealth of shared experience over many years. I hope this becomes an annual event.

Special mention, I feel, has to be made to traniht who at the end of the evening tore his wallet from his pocket, and despite the super glue, managed to open it and buy everyone a drink!!! I can only imagine the mental anguish he must have endured in order to make that decision. I salute you Ian!!!

Kind Regards to all GAZ

Hi all i can only second what gaz iow has already said thou i think that was a little unkind what he said about trainit, it really was a good do

Hello everyone, It was a good time, just old codgers nattering and having a couple of beers. I am now going to try the photos for last night and see if it will work. Also traniht I have just been past your house and left the money as you said !!!
RichardG
