Just hear’ed the sad news from Charlie 1 about Jim Rawlings .He was my first boss in haulage, both him and David nurtured me on in the transport industry with the help of Horace , and now they’ve all gone, makes you think doesn’t it, Rest in Peace Jim Regards to all ,Andy PS I don’t get you drift Harry!

Another very sad piece of news he was my mentor and I owe him a great deal.

personally, but did a few of his loads back in the day.

Jimmy gave me the chance to be an Owner Driver and I thank him for that. RIP Jim.

Good evening all. Just got back from Jimmy’s funeral.Threw it down with rain. Huge turnout. Many had to stand. Lot of faces. Bob Newman who did not recognise me. Or me him. Brain Damage was also there but we managed to swerve round him. Ernie Bignall also showed. Great to see him.All in all was a good send off. We didn’t go to the wake as I had to get Terry home so we drank to Jim with coffee. Excuse me if there was anyone there who I failed to recognise.Regards Charlie
